WESG Hong Kong Esports Festival 2018 Highlights outside Competitions

Event

"WESG Hong Kong Esports Festival 2018" held at the AsiaWorld-Expo from the 9th to 11th of November. Apart from world-class esports competition, there were different VR games to try out including HADO, Virtuix Omni and Beat Saber. Although not all of us could join the competition, we were still able to enjoy video games with advanced VR technology.

Free VR Games for Trial

"HADO", a famous AR game in Japan, gives you a magical battle experience. The number of players on each team is limited to 3. AR (Augmented Reality) and motion sensing technology allows players to shoot energy balls and pull up their shields in reality. With armband sensors and a head mount display, the player can see the energy balls they have shot and their remaining HP.

Many players that enjoy music games already know "Beat Saber", the popular VR rhythm game. Players control the light swords to cut open boxes by their color, path and direction with rhythm.

Unlike the above two games, Virtuix Omni allows players to walk into the virtual world. Your movement of the character is synchronized with your actual movement in real world, allowing you to walk, run, or even jump in the game.
