The professional esports team "DetonatioN FocusMe" (hereafter DFM), operated by DetonatioN Inc., a subsidiary of GameWith Inc., announced the start of streaming for its new YouTube program, "Fodekake!," as new content delivered by an esports team for regional revitalization.
The first installment, which will be streamed on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 12:00 PM JST, will feature the team visiting Shimane Prefecture's tourist attractions and local high schools for an esports exchange.
YouTube New Program "Fodekake!" Starts Streaming
Streaming will begin for the new YouTube program "Fodekake!" as new regional revitalization content from the professional esports team "DetonatioN FocusMe" (@team_detonation).
"Fodekake!" is a program where players belonging to DetonatioN FocusMe visit local tourist spots and high schools for an esports exchange.
This "Fodekake!" program primarily has three concepts.
"Fodekake!" Program Concepts
1. Increase Attachment and Turn Liking Into Passion
To expand the range of player activities outside the competitive scene and create opportunities for many people to get to know the players themselves.
2. Support the Multi-Faceted Activities of Professional Gamers
Activities for players and streamers in the esports industry are often limited to specific platforms, but this content is intended to provide various opportunities for communication through the program and lead to future possibilities, such as a second career.
3. Regional Revitalization, Regional Tour, and Human Resources Education
Currently, esports events are primarily centered in urban areas, but this content aims to be created in partnership with local governments, local governments x educational institutions (high schools and vocational schools) x local businesses, along with esports fans across Japan.
"Fodekake!" First Installment: "Shimane Prefecture Edition"
"Fodekake!," which begins as new regional revitalization content, will feature four members—Nephrite (@Nephrite2), Buyuriru (@Buyuriru), Aim (@Aim_o_x), and Hamuppi (@Hamuppi_)—enjoying the charms of Shimane Prefecture over a two-day, one-night trip.
The players will convey the region's appeal by visiting famous places in Shimane Prefecture, such as Izumo Taisha Shrine, and Yunotsu Onsen at the foot of the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine World Heritage Site.
They will also visit Nanao Gakuen Masuda Higashi High School, a full-time high school that has an esports scholarship system, to coach students who aim to be the next generation of esports players.
At Masuda Higashi High School, the program plans to stream a heated exchange match between the DFM team and students belonging to the esports club, as well as an explanation of why the school focuses on esports.
"Fodekake!" will be streamed from Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 12:00 PM JST on the DFM Official YouTube Channel.
Subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications to wait for the premiere!
"Fodekake!" Might Be Coming to Your Town?
Just as the program concept states, it is "content created with esports fans across Japan," and "Fodekake!" will be created together with esports fans nationwide.
Therefore, a dedicated inquiry form for "Fodekake!" is available for companies and educational institutions interested in regional revitalization and esports education, with examples including:
- Want to promote local tourist spots to the esports community
- Want to try a new initiative for regional revitalization
- Want professional gamers to provide direct instruction
"Fodekake!" aims to be content that contributes to showcasing the appeal of Japan's regions and fostering/discovering new esports talent, so companies and educational institutions that are interested should inquire.
