Kim Kaphwan is a series veteran who has appeared since Fatal Fury 2.
As a staple regular in THE KING OF FIGHTERS series, he is an intimately familiar face for fans of SNK works.
Firmly believing that Taekwondo is the supreme martial art in the world, he is driven by an unyielding sense of justice to vanquish villainy.
In the previous installment, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, he stepped back from the playable roster in a generational handover to his sons, Kim Dong Hwan and Kim Jae Hoon.
While he initially appeared only within the storyline in this title, he finally returns as a playable DLC fighter.
For the very first time in franchise history, the Kim Family is playable together in the same game.
A legendary taekwondo fighter whose feats inspire Kim Dong Hwan and Kim Jae Hoon to this day. Though widely lauded as a master of his martial art, his drive never fades; indeed, even now he trains tirelessly in pursuit of greater strength. His justice-fueled kicks, undeniable and unforgiving, strike down evil without a moment’s hesitation.
Character Trailer Also Revealed!
The character trailer is available on the official SNK YouTube channel in Japanese and English.
He is voiced by Kunihiro Kawamoto (@kawamoto_seven) in Japanese and June Yoon in English.
In the video, he showcases a seasoned repertoire of dynamic kicking techniques.
His signature move, Hou'ou Kyaku—so famous it was even parodied by Deadpool—remains fully intact.
Visual effects also evoke Real Bout Fatal Fury, faithfully preserving classic heritage while evolving to modern standards.
Furthermore, his background music features a new arrangement of one of his classic theme songs, Seoul-ssu, delivering fantastic fan service for longtime Fatal Fury devotees.
Whether you are a longtime fan of Kim Kaphwan or discovering him for the first time in Fatal Fury: CotW, be sure to check it out.
