Nintendo Corporation has announced the "Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program" a test of the new "Nintendo Switch Online" paid service for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Corporation has announced the implementation of the "Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program". The playtest will be held from July 29, 2025 (10:00) to August 11, 2025 (09:59), and users can sign up from July 19, 2025 (Sat.) at 07:00. This test is a test of the same service as the one conducted in October 2024.

The program will be open to those who have subscribed to the "Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack" by 07:00 on July 18, 2025 (Fri.). The "Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program" will run from Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 until Monday, August 11, 2025 at 09:59. Switch, and can participate in the test by downloading the exclusive software to their own Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch. The content of the test regarding the new service will be the same as the one conducted in October 2024.
The eligibility requirements are as follows
- Subscribe to "Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack" as of 07:00 (Japan time) on July 18, 2025 (Friday).
- The age of the Nintendo Account is 18 years old or older as of 07:00 on July 18, 2025 (Fri.) [Japan time].
- The country registered in the Nintendo account is one of the following: Japan, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico.
The application period is until July 21, 2025!
The application period is from 07:00 Saturday, July 19, 2025 to 23:59 Monday, July 21, 2025. Results will be announced at 13:30 on Friday, July 25, 2025. If there are too many applicants, the number of participants will be determined by lottery in Japan and on a first-come, first-served basis outside of Japan, and the number of participants is expected to be approximately 40,000.
