The latest system software update for PlayStation Portal has been released.
This update adds a 1080p High Quality Mode and implements several UX improvements.

A system software update has been released for PlayStation Portal!
The update includes the following improvements:
- Addition of 1080p High Quality Mode
- Improvements to the cloud streaming experience
- Optimization of the initial setup flow
1080p High Quality Mode Added! Smoother Gameplay Now Possible
1080p High Quality Mode has been added, allowing you to play games at a higher bitrate compared to the conventional 1080p Standard Mode and enjoy smoother, high-definition visuals!
To enable it, select 1080p High Quality from Maximum Resolution in the Quick Menu during Remote Play or cloud streaming.
The changed settings will be applied after restarting the Remote Play or cloud streaming session.
Cloud Streaming Experience Improved!
The usability of cloud streaming has also been enhanced with several improvements, including:
- Selecting Streaming on a product detail page now allows you to select the game you want to play from titles included in a game set.
- Invitations received while streaming compatible titles will now be displayed as notifications on the screen.
- Names and icons are clearly displayed when earned, and a dedicated animation has been added for earning a Platinum Trophy.
- Operability has been improved, such as the keyboard appearing immediately upon entering the search screen.
Initial Setup Flow Optimized
The UI and initial setup flow have been optimized, making it easier for those who do not have a PlayStation account to start using the device.
By simply scanning a QR code with a smartphone, you can complete the entire process from account creation to signing in to the PS Portal.
