Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced a price increase for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition in some countries and regions.
Prices in Japan will increase on September 15.
Due to rising prices and exchange rate trends around the world, the price of "PlayStation 5" and "PlayStation 5 Digital Edition" in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Canada, and some countries and regions in Asia Pacific including Japan will be revised. The price of the "PlayStation 5" and "PlayStation 5 Digital Edition" will be revised.
In Japan, the price of "PlayStation 5" and "PlayStation 5 Digital Edition" will increase by 5,500 yen.
- PlayStation 5 (with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive): 54,978 yen (including tax) → 60,478 yen (including tax)
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition : 43,978 yen (including tax) → 49,478 yen ( including tax)
In Japan, the price will be revised on September 15, 2022 (Thu. ), so the current price will apply before then.
