Taipei Game Show 2024 (hereinafter Taipei Game Show 2024) was held in Taiwan for four days from Thursday, January 25 to Sunday, January 28, 2024.
The time went by in a flash, but it was a dense experience, and I enjoyed an atmosphere different from Tokyo Game Show.
This time, from Taipei Game Show 2024, we bring you the status of the The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden booth, Zenless Zone Zero booth, KOMOE GAME booth, and Tower of Saviors booth!
The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden
The mobile game The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden, based on the light novel and TV anime The Eminence in Shadow, had its own standalone booth!
Since its release in Japan in November 2022, it has earned high ratings on the App Store and Google Play, and it is also very popular in Taiwan.
Shouting contests were held regularly on the booth stage.
Of course, demo stations were also set up.
In Japan, in addition to iOS and Android, Windows and AndApp versions are also available.
Multiple large photo spots were set up around the demo area.
Merchandise sales were also a huge success.
Taipei Game Show exclusive lucky bags, which could contain items like mouse pads and life-size body pillows, were also available for purchase.
Zenless Zone Zero
Zenless Zone Zero is the latest title scheduled for release in 2024 from HoYoverse, known for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
Japanese fans are also watching closely, and on Thursday, February 1, 2024, the announcement that a PlayStation 5 version is in production caused quite a stir on social media.
Stage events where fans could win high-end merchandise were also held.
This title is compelling for its exhilarating high-speed battles.
As of the time of writing, it can only be played through demos at such events or during closed beta tests, so there was a long line at the booth as well.
KOMOE GAME
While it might not be familiar to everyone in Japan, KOMOE GAME is a company that develops and publishes games.
At the Taipei Game Show 2024 booth, three titles were exhibited: Umamusume: Pretty Derby, Fate/Grand Order, and Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains.
The booth was centered around photo spots and a stage.
On the Fate/Grand Order stage, events such as the gacha battles everyone loves were held, sometimes resulting in cheers so loud they drew attention from surrounding booths.
It is great to see people being so enthusiastic about Japanese anime and games!
Tower of Saviors
Tower of Saviors is a smartphone app developed and operated by Mad Head, a game company in Hong Kong.
It gained popularity with a gameplay style that combines match-3 puzzles and RPG elements, and it celebrated its 11th anniversary in January 2024.
The exhibition area was the largest among all the booths!
Tower of Saviors provided a giant stage and spectator seating, holding various events to celebrate the 11th anniversary of its release.
No matter when I visited, there were massive numbers of gamers enjoying the stage while playing Tower of Saviors on their own devices.
This many people gathered even on the final day.
It is truly a dominant app.
Unfortunately, it cannot be played from within Japan, but there is no shortage of topics such as collaborations with the TV anime One Punch Man, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as the smartphone app MONSTER STRIKE.
The status of the cosplay shows and performances held on stage are published on YouTube, so please try to get a feel for the atmosphere.
