Comment from Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, Honorary Chairperson of the Tokyo eSports Festa Executive Committee

The appeal of e-sports is the ability to connect with friends and players from around the world online.

Comment from Hideki Okamura, Chairman of Japan eSports Association

I believe that e-sports is one of the solutions for a symbiotic society that transcends national borders and deepens human ties.
This year is also a commemorative year for the implementation of e-sports as an official medal sport at the Asian Games.
I believe that the reason why the Tokyo eSports Festa has become a more substantial event each time it is held is because eSports is expected to have economic effects from many directions.
