X-MOMENT" operated by NTT DOCOMO, Inc. has updated its official website and official X (@XMOMENT_esports ). The company announced that the brand will end on April 10, 2024 (Wednesday ).

X-MOMENT" is an e-sports league brand launched in January 2021 as part of NTT DOCOMO's e-sports business. X-MOMENT has operated many e-sports tournaments and leagues centered on the "PUBG MOBILE" and "Rainbow Six Siege" professional leagues. In particular, the company has contributed to the development of e-sports in Japan by guaranteeing a salary of more than 3.5 million yen per year to players participating in the professional league.

How will the league be operated in the future?

It was announced that the "PUBG MOBILE JAPAN LEAGUE," a professional league for "PUBG MOBILE," will continue to operate from May 2024 as the "PUBG MOBILE JAPAN LEAGUE SEASON 4. Last year's SEASON 3 was the first time for the league to open a new season. Although some major changes cannot be denied, such as the total prize money being reduced from 100 million yen in last year's SEASON 3 to 10 million yen, it appears that the route to the world championships has been secured. For more details, please check the official "PUBG MOBILE" website.

On the other hand, details of the Rainbow Six Japan League, a professional league for Rainbow Six Siege, have not been announced at this time. However, Rainbow Six Official X mentions, "The RJL will continue to run at full speed, and details for Season 2024 will be announced soon. It is certain that the company will continue to exist with a change in management, as it mentions that

Both leagues, which have operated with some of the best treatment in Japan, will end after three years of history. Even before this announcement, professional teams had announced the dissolution of related divisions and the expiration of player contracts, and there are concerns that the leagues will shrink in size in the future. As companies have entered and exited the e-sports market, they have accumulated expertise, but there are also issues that remain to be resolved.
