Square Enix released Dragon Quest VII Reimagined on Thursday, February 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows.
It will be released on Steam on Friday, February 6, 2026.
This title is a remake of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, which was originally released in 2000, now reimagined with a doll-like aesthetic.

This title is a remake of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past originally released in 2000, depicted with a doll-like look.
The protagonist, who lives on the secluded the island of Estard, discovers mysterious stone tablet fragments one day along with his best friend, Prince Kiefer.
By fitting the collected fragments into the pedestals of the island's shrine, they are guided to unknown worlds by a mystical light.
Stone fragments are scattered throughout towns and dungeons.
Every time they find a stone tablet, the world of the protagonist and his friends begins to expand little by little.
However, their adventure, which started from a small curiosity, eventually reveals an eerily encroaching evil presence and the true form of the world that had been hidden.
When they solve problems at their destination, that land also appears in the protagonist's world.
As the number of places to explore increases, the world continues to expand.
At the start of the adventure, vocations unique to each character are set.
For example, the protagonist starts as a Fledgling Fisherman, and Kiefer starts as a Heir Apparent.
By raising vocation ranks, they learn new spells and abilities, and as the adventure progresses, basic vocations such as Warrior and Mage are unlocked, along with Intermediate Vocations and Advanced Vocations upon meeting certain conditions.
Characters can hold up to two vocations at once, allowing you to build your preferred party composition while experimenting with combinations.
A Free Demo Version That Allows Save Data Transfer to the Full Version Is Now Available!
In the free-to-play demo version, players can experience the early stages of the adventure up to clearing Ballymolloy, the first world the protagonists visit.
Save data from the demo version can be transferred to the full version, allowing you to continue the adventure with your trained party.
Additionally, if save data from the demo version is stored on the console, you can obtain Maribel's cosmetic equipment as a bonus for use in the full version.
The Digital Deluxe Edition with Set Bonus Content Is Also on Sale
Additional content Arena 'The Road of Regal Wretches', where you can fight legendary Demon Lords from the Erdrick Trilogy, is now on sale.
The Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes a bundle of all three types of DLC featuring costume sets and lucky bags with items useful for the adventure, is also available.
