The "Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series 2025," the world's first new global esports tournament, has been announced!
This is a ranking-based tournament where "Global Points" will be awarded based on performance in three types of tournaments held from July to November 2025.
Top-ranked competitors will be invited to participate in the "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix Final," the official Sega tournament to decide the Puyo Puyo world champion, scheduled for February 2026!

The "Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series" was announced with the goal of expanding the number of "Puyo Puyo" competitors overseas.
Three types of tournaments will be held from July to November 2025, with "Global Points" awarded based on performance to determine rankings.
The three tournaments to be held are as follows:
- Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series SEGA Official Tournament (PGRS-ST): 4 times planned
- Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series Ascension Official Tournament (PGRS-AT): 4 times planned
- Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series Community Tournament (PGRS-CT)
The ranking will consist of two divisions, Japan Region and Other Region, and top-ranked competitors will be invited to participate in the "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix Final," the official Sega tournament to decide the Puyo Puyo world champion, scheduled for February 2026.
Entries are currently open for the "Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series 2025 Ascension Official Tournament 1 GUMMY GAUNTLET," which will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

- Eligible Regions: Conducted in two divisions: "Japan Region" and "Other Region." Rankings will be determined for each division and "Global Points" will be awarded.

- Title Used: "Puyo Puyo eSports" or "Puyo Puyo Tetris 2"
- Platform Used: Steam or Nintendo Switch
- Rule Set: Puyo Puyo Tsu rules
- Tournament Format: Single-elimination or double-elimination
- Win Condition: First to win 5 matches or more in one game
