"Pearl in Blue" Media Presentation! The Development Team, Guests, and Voice Actors Introduce the Game’s Charms
At the event, MC Hyakka Ryoran ( @ryouran2525 ), Development Producer John Hyun-joon, and Yamato Yamashita, Head of Netmarble’s Japan Business Division, took the stage.
John read a letter to Japanese fans that he had written on a folding fan, kicking off the event in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Freelance writer Gameboku. ( @gamebokusan ) and NON STYLE’s Yusuke Inoue ( @inoueyusuke ) also appeared as special guests!
Gamebok. greeted the audience by saying, “I’m here today as someone who absolutely loves bishoujo RPGs,” and Inoue also seemed very interested in the game, remarking, “It’s the kind of game that makes a guy’s dreams come true, isn’t it?”
Netmarble’s first game centered on cute girl characters
"Pearl in Blue" is Netmarble’s first game centered around beautiful girl characters.
In the game’s world, everyone is born with a “pearl”—the seed of desire—and the moment it blooms and desire takes shape is called “blooming.”
The heroines are “knights” who battle by making their pearls bloom.
Key Features of “Pearl in Blue”
- Monthly Romance Comedy: Enjoy a new romance comedy story every month
- Story: A tale of growth, romance, and saving the world, centered on the dual nature of desire
- Beautiful Knight Girls: Members of the Knights’ Order who act like influencers, gaining fans by streaming their battles
The Voice Cast Makes an Appearance! A Discussion About the Four Dark Knights
In addition, the voice actors playing the four heroines who belong to the "Dark Knight" order took the stage!
- Ichiha: Tae Hosen ( @tae_hosen )
- Nika: Yurina Kikuchi ( @kikuchi_yurina )
- Mihho: Mirai Ayase ( @mira_montblanc )
- Yotsuba: Hiyori Nitta ( @nitahiyo_yo_yo )
It seems that Ms. Hosen and Ms. Ayase saw the character designs and felt so strongly that they absolutely wanted to play them that they went into the auditions with that determination.
Just like Gem-boku., who immediately replied, “Yotsuba is the only choice,” Ms. Inoue also said that Yotsuba with a sparrow perched on her shoulder was her favorite.
Opening Sequence and Concept PV Unveiled for the First Time
On stage, the opening video set to the OP theme “Unfinished Night,” sung by the four members of Dark Knight, was unveiled for the first time.
The concept PV screened next featured the ED theme “Blooming Instinct, ” sung by Miho (Voiced by: Mirai Ayase), and Inoue-san seemed surprised, remarking that it “exceeds game-quality standards.”
Inoue Plays the Game Live! Battles Where She Overwhelms Enemies with Parries
The live gameplay demo began with a scene where Nika rescues the protagonist, who was being attacked by a monster.
Interwoven with 3D cutscenes and manga-style panel-based dialogue segments, the battle progresses through well-timed button presses and “parries” — moves executed the moment an opponent glows.
Inoue commented, “The way it switches from the anime to the game right away—that sense of speed is incredibly fun.”
Gemboku also noted, “It seems like it could be played fairly casually,” while praising the game for offering solid action gameplay.
