Tokyo Metropolitan Government Announces Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project Featuring Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Sayuri Matsumura, And More At The Opening Event

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has announced the Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project to share the diverse cultural and industrial appeal of Edo and Tokyo with domestic and international audiences.
The project will roll out a variety of content in the metaverse for about one month, from Thursday, January 18, 2024, to Monday, February 12, 2024, using the metaverse platform, cluster, operated by Cluster, Inc.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project leverages the metaverse to share Tokyo's appeal with domestic and international audiences, timing the event to coincide with the 100-day countdown to the opening of SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024.

Starting with an opening event featuring Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Sayuri Matsumura, the project will also feature music concerts by Vtubers Asano Ruri and MaiR. Visitors can learn about Tokyo and Edo through unique metaverse experiences for a whole month!

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (@pamyurin) and Sayuri Matsumura (@sayuringo_staff) will welcome all visitors!
They will introduce the metaverse space for the Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project and make event announcements.
Plus, the Governor's avatar might even deliver an opening message!?

TOKYO FASHION TALK

Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project Special Site
  • Date: Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 7:00 PM to approx. 8:10 PM
  • Performers: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Kumiko Iijima, Ryo Kato, and more

Fashion icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, stylist and costume designer Kumiko Iijima, and actor/talent Ryo Kato will discuss youth fashion in Tokyo.
Visitors can also experience the space together with the performers!

Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project Special Site
  • Date: Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 8:00 PM to approx. 8:30 PM
  • Performers: Asano Ruri, MaiR

Vtubers Asano Ruri (@asanoruri) and MaiR (@MaiR_Hoshino), who deliver powerful vocals from virtual space, will hold special live performances!
The concert starts on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 8:00 PM, with recorded screenings also scheduled for Sunday, February 4, 2024, and Sunday, February 11, 2024.

TOKYO QUIZ CHALLENGE

  • Date: Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 8:00 PM to approx. 8:30 PM
  • Performers: Dennou Shojo Siro, Kakyoin Chieri

Vtubers Dennou Shojo Siro (@SIROyoutuber) and Kakyoin Chieri (@chieri_kakyoin) will delve into the industrial appeal of Tokyo through fun quizzes.
Whether you live in Tokyo or not, come and learn about the city while thinking through the questions together!

Discovering the Charm of VR Performers

  • Date: Friday, February 9, 2024, from 7:00 PM to approx. 8:00 PM
  • Performers: yoikami, Bisen Aoyagi, Satoshi Mukai (Panther), Sayuri Matsumura, Yuzu Minase

In this special event, MCs and guests will rediscover the appeal of performances by dancers and calligraphers active in virtual space.
Pay attention to the techniques unique to virtual space that are impossible to replicate in the real world!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project kicks off on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
During the project period, SusHi Tech Square in Yurakucho, Tokyo, will also host events such as virtual Edo tours and Tokyo job experience simulations in the metaverse.

Users can access the metaverse platform, cluster, on smartphones, PCs, and VR goggles.
