Interview With Xiaohai, Winner of the EVO Japan 2026 Fatal Fury: CotW Category: "70% of My Practice Time Is Spent on Fatal Fury" and "I Want Even More Players to Join"

Xiaohai: I am extremely happy and feel honored.
I am also grateful that I was able to earn the right to participate in EWC (Esports World Cup) and SWC (SNK World Championship).
I wouldn't have been able to improve this quickly without practice partners, so I want to express my gratitude to all my partners as well.
Especially since I hadn't won much at major tournaments this year, I am happy that I could leave a result on this big stage.

Xiaohai: First, I want to praise myself (laughs).
My efforts up until now have paid off.
I am also grateful to my wife, who created an environment where I could focus on practice.
Furthermore, I was supported by the broad Fatal Fury communities in China, Japan, Korea, and beyond, as well as all of those practice partners.

Xiaohai: It was an extremely difficult tournament.
Because winning here provides entry rights for EWC and SWC, many powerful players were participating.
However, I have also put in a lot of practice, and I believe I can continue to leave results in future tournaments.

Xiaohai: I am practicing multiple titles such as Street Fighter 6 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV, but right now I am devoting about 70% of my time to Fatal Fury: CotW.
Especially since entry rights for EWC and SWC were at stake this time, I played other titles while spending most of my time on Fatal Fury.

Xiaohai: The prize money for this tournament was high, but the number of participants was not very large.
However, I think everyone's play was truly wonderful.
I believe Fatal Fury: CotW is a good game, and I enjoy the psychological warfare and battle of wits during matches.
I feel my own level rising along with everyone else, so I hope that even more strong players will join.
