Nintendo has announced the upcoming in-game online event, the Global Online Challenge, for the Nintendo Switch 2 game Mario Kart World.
It will be held for one week from June 5, 2026 (Fri) at 9:00 AM JST to June 12, 2026 (Fri) at 9:00 AM JST.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the Nintendo Switch 2 game Mario Kart World on June 5, 2026 (Fri),
the in-game online event Global Online Challenge has been announced!
In this event, players compete in 150cc race formats, with the goal of achieving the highest possible rating by the end of the period.
Ratings start at 3000 and fluctuate based on match results.
The event runs for one week from June 5, 2026 (Fri) at 9:00 AM JST to June 12, 2026 (Fri) at 9:00 AM JST, and you can participate at your convenience.
You can participate in the event as follows:
- Launch the game and select "Online"
- Press the minus button to select "Find Event" and enter the 4-digit event ID: 6500
- Once the event information appears, compete during the scheduled time shown on the screen
If you enter the event ID before the event period begins, you can practice with the same rules used in the Global Online Challenge.
Top 100 Players to Be Featured on the Official Website! Character Rankings Also Available
The top 100 players will have their Player Data posted on the Mario Kart World official website approximately one week after the event ends.
Since this event is open to players worldwide, the country and region of participants will also be featured.
Additionally, the #1 ranked player for each character will be displayed.
