This update enhances the operability of Game Chat, while also adding new features to the parental controls app, Nintendo Mimamori Switch, and the Mii creation and editing features.
These new features are available on consoles running system version 23.0.0 or later.
Chats Previously Joined Now Displayed in Game Chat
Usability has been improved on Nintendo Switch 2 for Game Chat, which lets users enjoy voice chat and game screen sharing with friends.
The screen for selecting which game chat to join has been revamped to display chats that were previously joined.
Users can immediately start chatting with the same members.
Test Game Chat Alone
When starting a new game chat, users can now enter a room without selecting any friends.
This is convenient for testing Game Chat features or verifying how it operates.
Easily Switch Screen Size
A button to change the Screen Size has been added to the menu opened with the C Button during Game Chat.
Users can easily switch the display size of the game screen during chat.
Shared Parental Controls Feature Added to Nintendo Mimamori Switch
In Nintendo Mimamori Switch, the Shared Parental Controls feature has been added, allowing two parents or guardians to monitor the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch used by their child.
By inviting another guardian from within Nintendo Mimamori Switch, both individuals can utilize the service.
QR Codes Can Now Be Scanned in Mii Creation and Editing
By connecting an optional USB camera, such as the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera, to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, users can now scan Mii QR codes.
In addition to Mii QR codes created on Nintendo Switch 2, QR codes created on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U can also be scanned.
Mii characters created in the past can also be brought into games that support Mii characters, such as Tomodachi Collection: Wakuwaku Seikatsu and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
QR codes created on Nintendo Switch 2 can be saved to the console's album and shared with friends by uploading them to a smartphone.
Play BGM While Editing Mii Characters
BGM can now be played on the Mii editing screen.
BGM can be selected from three variations: Wii Mii Channel, Nintendo 3DS Mii Maker, and Wii U Mii Maker.
