At "The Game Awards 2024," a game awards ceremony held in Los Angeles, USA, the start of a brand new project for the action-adventure game "Okami" was announced.
Along with the announcement, a project teaser trailer featuring Amaterasu and a teaser website have been released.
"Okami" Brand New! Project Teaser Trailer Released
The action-adventure game "Okami" was released in 2006.
It became a hot topic with its catchphrase "Life in this world revives" and its Japanese painting-style ink wash painting aesthetic.
It was originally released on PS2, and has since been released on Wii and Switch, with a sequel titled "Okamiden" also appearing.
And now, a brand new "Okami" has been announced!
In the project teaser trailer released with the announcement, the beautiful Japanese painting-style depiction is still present.
The video has a sense of speed. Amaterasu dashes through the footage, flowers bloom in her wake, and at the end, there's even a "Celestial Brush" technique!
The director is Hideki Kamiya, who was responsible for the direction of "Okami" released in 2006.

In conjunction with the project announcement, a teaser website has also been released.

To all of you
“Until next time...”How long has it been since the story was concluded with that? I didn’t think the day would really come, where I’d return to Okami and continue the story with my own hands. Even at this very moment, my body is filled with both a cautious surprise that this is not a dream, and a joy that cannot be described in words.
Everyone who has worked so hard to make this project a reality, the friends who believed in me and gathered at CLOVERS Inc., and most importantly, the voices of so many of you who have continued to support Okami even after such a long time: all of this has come together to create this miracle, for which I am deeply grateful.
Like a strong rising sun, this project is finally in motion. But it’s still a small bud that is blossoming. We are ready to fill this new Okami with many colorful flowers, and to do our best to fulfil the promise of “next time” in the best way.
Everyone please wait with anticipation.
