Nintendo released the " Pikmin Day Direct " to coincide with "Pikmin Day" on November 1.
In addition to the release of a demo for " Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Anyone Can Try! Pikmin Planning Quiz," the video also features new information about the smartphone app " Pikmin Bloom " and more.
"Pikmin Day Direct" Released! Starting This Year, November 1 Is "Pikmin Day"
During the “Pikmin Day Direct,” it was announced that November 1 has been designated as “Pikmin Day” every year.
The date was chosen because the three Pikmin — red, blue, and yellow — from the original “Pikmin” game, released in 2001 for the Nintendo GameCube, resemble the number “1.”
Demo for "Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Anyone Can Challenge! Planning Quiz" Now Available
“Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Anyone Can Challenge! Planning Quiz ” is a Nintendo Switch 2 title that adds new features to “Pikmin 4,” originally released for the Nintendo Switch.
A demo version is now available, allowing players to experience two stages: the early-game “Sunlit Garden” and the “Planning Test.”
" Anyone Can Challenge! Planning Quiz " is a game where you compete to see how quickly you can transport all the "treasures"—such as fruits and vegetables—within a stage before time runs out.
There are various strategies for planning, such as using a single Purple Pikmin to carry certain treasures or breaking walls to shorten your route.
The actual exam is a one-shot challenge held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while you can practice as many times as you like every day.
Six new challenges are added on the first Monday of every month, and you’ll receive rewards based on the medals you’ve earned by taking the exam repeatedly.
“Woof Command,” which lets you talk to your partner, Otchin, using the microphones on two Switch consoles, has also been added.
Other features include “Share Mode” for Strategy Battles and a sharper, more beautiful display.
It will be released on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
A new adventure, “Secret Cave,” arrives in “Pikmin Bloom”
It has been announced that a new adventure, “Secret Cave,” will be added to “Pikmin Bloom” in this winter’s update.
In this mode, you defeat native creatures in the cave to collect treasures, which are then added to your new collection.
To enter the cave, you’ll need a cave map, which occasionally comes with postcards.
Once you obtain a map and dispatch your Pikmin, they’ll automatically explore the cave, and battles will begin when they encounter native creatures.
During battles, you issue attack commands to fight, and when in a pinch, you can blow your whistle to recall your Pikmin.
Pikmin that have retreated after taking damage will reportedly return to full health after some time has passed.
A collaboration with “Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Anyone Can Challenge! Dandori Test” is also planned; by taking the Dandori Test, you’ll receive a special cave map as a reward.
Additionally, “Pikmin Bloom Journey 2026 in Kobe” will be held on Saturday, November 21, and Sunday, November 22, 2026.
This is a paid event where participants tour special spots throughout the city of Kobe alongside Blue Pikmin.
