Japan is home to countless popular theme parks themed around famous characters and series, drawing tourists from both within Japan and all around the world.
However! Have you ever wondered why there isn't a permanent theme park for that series, which boasts fans all over the world?
The Pokémon Company is collaborating with YOMIURI LAND CO.,LTD. and The Yomiuri Shimbun to launch an entertainment venture, PokéPark Kanto.
Entertainment Venture, PokéPark Kanto, Announced!
The Pokémon Company has established PokéPark Kanto LLC jointly with YOMIURI LAND CO.,LTD. and The Yomiuri Shimbun to embark on the PokéPark Kanto entertainment venture.
PokéPark Kanto will be developed in a section of the Yomiuriland amusement park grounds located in Inagi, Tokyo, creating a space where Pokémon fans from all over the world can come together and enjoy themselves in a nature-rich environment.
Additionally, the nature adventure, Pokémon WONDER, has been operating inside Yomiuriland since July 2021.
When it comes to Pokémon, each entry in the series features settings modeled after various regions in Japan and around the world.
The newly announced PokéPark Kanto takes its name and inspiration from the Kanto region, which serves as the setting for the first games in the series, such as Pokémon Red and Green.
That opens up exciting possibilities for future developments based on other regions, such as the Johto region (modeled after the Kansai and Chubu regions) or the Hoenn region (modeled after the Kyushu region)!
Since only the logo has been revealed so far, we'll have to wait for follow-up reports for more details.
