FamilyMartTaiwanCo., Ltd. headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, announced today that it has concluded a partnership agreement with " Pokémon GO," a location-based game application. With the conclusion of the partnership agreement, "PokéStops" and "Gyms" will appear in the "Pokémon GO" game at approximately 4,000 FamilyMart stores in Taiwan from December 1, 2022 (Thursday)!
Pokémon GO is now available at FamilyMart stores in Japan and Taiwan!
Pokémon GO" is an application jointly developed by Niantic and Pokémon Inc. and released in 2016, and is a game application for smartphones that utilizes AR technology and location information. It is played around the world and has been downloaded more than 1 billion times worldwide, including Japan and Taiwan.
Prior to the partnership in Taiwan, a partnership with "Pokémon GO" was established in Japan in November 2021, and is currently in its second year. Currently, approximately 16,500 FamilyMart stores are "PokéStops" and "Gyms", and the game has been played at FamilyMart stores more than 1.1 billion times in one year.
With the conclusion of the Taiwan FamilyMart partnership, "Pokémon GO" will be available at approximately 20,500 FamilyMart stores in both Japan and Taiwan. FamilyMart plans to conduct "Pokémon GO" related campaigns in the future.
