ASUS, a Taipei, Taiwan-based manufacturer of PCs, PC parts, smartphones, and peripherals, has announced the release of its new ZenBook Duo UX481 and ZenBook Pro Duo UX581.
32:9 Second Display
Until now, the mainstream two-screen laptops have been those with an LCD touchpad or a 6-inch sub-display behind the keyboard.
However, the "ZenBook Duo UX481" and "ZenBook Pro Duo UX581" have a 32:9 display behind the keyboard with the same width and horizontal resolution as the main display.
Called "ScreenPad Plus," it is not a "sub-display" but a "second display.
"ScreenPad Plus" has an infinite number of uses.
The second display, ScreenPad Plus, is touch-enabled and can be used as an area for intuitive operation or as a single large screen with the main display on the other side of the hinge.
Since the resolution is the same as that of the main display, the user is not limited to what is displayed on the "ScreenPad Plus" side, and can use it according to the user's needs.
Two sizes available
The 14-inch ZenBook Duo UX481 and the 15.6-inch ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 are available.
The 15.6-inch ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 has a 3,840 x 2,160 OLED main display and a 3,840 x 1,100 ScreenPad Plus LCD panel, both with touch support. Intel® Core™ i9-9980HK processor, up to 32GB of memory, and an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2060 GPU.
The touchpad on the right side of the keyboard is equipped with the latest version of ASUS NumberPad and can also be used as a numeric keypad.
The 14-inch ZenBook Duo UX481 features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD LCD main display and a 1920 x 515 ScreenPad Plus with touch support, an Intel® Core™ i7 processor CPU, up to 16GB of memory, and a GPU with up to 16GB of RAM. The CPU is an Intel® Core™ i7 processor with up to 16GB of memory and an NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 GPU.
High-quality audio
The audio section has been tuned in cooperation with renowned audio manufacturer Harman Kardon.
This gives you a sound experience unlike any other laptop PC and allows you to feel immersed when playing music or playing games.
Many other particular designed features
The in-camera features an IR CAMERA that supports Windows Hello biometric facial recognition, allowing users to log in at a glance even in the dark.
Alexa is also built in, allowing you to play music, browse the news, or pull up the information you need at any time via voice control.
When the display is opened, the rear of the unit lifts up on a lift-up hinge to improve heat dissipation.
No other laptop is this complete.
Release Date and Price
The ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 and ZenBook Duo UX481 will be available in the third quarter of 2019.
