Samsung Electronics Japan Co., Ltd. has announced Samsung's latest smartwatches, Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic, for the Japanese market! Pre-orders are being accepted at Samsung online store, Galaxy Harajuku, Amazon.co.jp, electronics retailers nationwide, and major e-commerce sites from Tuesday, August 22, 2023, and will be available from September onward!
Galaxy Watch6 series announced for Japan!
The Galaxy Watch6 series has finally been announced for the Japanese market. Based on the concept of a large screen and thin bezel, the rounded screen display area is the largest in the history of Galaxy Watch. While the size is the same as the previous series, the screen size is about 20% larger and the black margin is about 30% smaller, which is a legitimate evolution.
Supports Felica!
Felica is a contactless IC card technology developed by Sony. Even if you have never heard of Felica, most people have probably used something like Edy, Osaifu-Keitai, nanaco, WAON, Suica, ICOCA, or PASMO. Felica has been supporting our daily lives, such as payment at stores and payment of public transportation fares.
For Japan, a Felica powerhouse, the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic will support Felica payment by Google Wallet exclusively for the Japanese model! Even more convenient with Galaxy smartphones
When paired with a Galaxy smartphone, users can adjust the camera zoom and switch between photos and videos by simply tracing the bezel or using two fingers on the display. You can also check the camera's reflection on the smartwatch's display, so you can take pictures from a distance or take group photos! Note that the zoom adjustment function requires pairing with "Galaxy S series," "Galaxy Note series," or "Galaxy Z series" compatible with One UI 5.1 or later camera controllers.
The watch is also fully equipped with other loss prevention features, such as notifications when the watch is disconnected from the smartphone, and device remote tracking to locate the smartphone! These features are compatible with Android smartphones with Android 10 or higher and 1.5GB memory or higher, but some features may not work with non-Galaxy smartphones.
High capacity battery and fast charging!
Galaxy Watch6 can be used for up to 40 hours on a single full charge. It also supports fast charging, which can charge up to 45% of the battery in just 30 minutes.
The battery life depends on usage conditions and environment, but the specifications are 425mAh for the larger model and 300mAh for the smaller model, so you can expect plenty of use out of them.
