San Francisco, California-based gaming device manufacturer Razer has announced the Razer Raion, a PlayStation 4 and PC game controller that uses the same keyswitches used in the company's keyboards.
Button layout optimized for gaming
The Razer Raion is inspired by arcade controllers and has a button layout optimized for gaming. It has two more face buttons than a standard gamepad and is shaped to accommodate different holding styles, allowing for quick access to the commands you need. It also includes features such as a built-in button lock function called Competition Mode, a 3.5MM analog audio jack, and a PS4™ touchpad.
The keyswitches used in the gaming keyboard
The Razer™ mechanical switch face buttons on the Razer Raion are slightly larger in size to reduce the possibility of accidentally pressing a different button at the same time. The face buttons use Razer yellow switches, which are used on Razer gaming keyboards such as the "Blackwidow" keyboard. These keyswitches are fast-responding and have a life cycle of 80 million cycles, so you can use them with peace of mind.
Equipped with Razer™ Meka Tactile 8-way keys
Unlike the limited 4-way keys used on other gamepads, the Razer™ MegaTactile 8-way keys, as the name implies, allow for 8-way input, allowing for precise command input. Not only do they boast excellent cushioning and high sensitivity, but the switches are also press-sensitive, so you can feel sure-footed input at your fingertips. This leads to a high success rate for combos.

The Razer Raion can be purchased from the official Razer website for 11,388 JPY. Users who have used MadCatz FightPad in the past, those who have difficulty getting used to arcade controllers, and those who feel a certain SEGA in this button layout may want to consider this product.
