The action RPG The Tower of Druaga debuted in arcades in July 1984.
To commemorate this 40th-anniversary milestone, pre-order sales for the first wave of new merchandise began on Friday, July 19, 2024.

The action RPG "The Tower of Druaga" debuted in arcades in July 1984.
Released before mobile phones and social media, it is considered a pioneer of games that fostered fan communication, with the enjoyment of its secrets spreading across Japan through player activity.
In 1986, the sequel, "The Return of Ishtar," was released in arcades.
The series expanded further with the release of the prequel to "The Tower of Druaga," "The Quest of Ki" for the Family Computer in 1988, and "The Blue Crystal Rod," which depicted the events after "The Return of Ishtar," for the Super Famicom in 1994.
"The Tower of Druaga" will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024.
