Review

Koei Tecmo's historical simulation game " Sangokushi 14 " and Hamada Shuzo Group's Satsushu Hamadaya Denbei have collaborated on two shochus: the sweet potato shochu " Satsushu Akabaguma " and the barley shochu " Satsushu Rofu ".
Do you remember when we reviewed these two shochu on saiganak.com?
Both are very tasty shochu, and we introduced the impressions of LAN Cable Man, the best drinker in our editorial department, and Nash Tajima, our band member.
And now! Satsushu Hamadaya Denbei sent us some more sake! How generous of them! Thank you again!

This time, they sent us a bottle of " Satsuma Kinzankura," one of the Hamada Shuzo Group's shochu breweries, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and " Drifters," a very popular otherworldly manga about a warlord named Shimazu Toyohisa, who is celebrating his 450th birthday. quot; "Drifters Collaboration " is a long-stored Kanayamagura Umeshu (plum wine).
This special product commemorates the 15th anniversary of "Satsuma Kinzankura" and the 450th anniversary of the birth of "Toyohisa Shimazu," who appears in "Drifters.
The arrival of the "Kanayamagura Umeshu (plum wine) Long-Stored Drifters Collaboration" was so exciting that the editorial staff of Saiga NAK, a group of unrivaled sake lovers, couldn't resist holding a second tasting event!
New members of the editorial staff joined in on the fun and drinking!

Retreat to the front! The legend of Shimadzu's strongest and the cartoon "Drifters" that really happened!

Before we get into the review, let's take a quick look at the "Drifters," a collaboration between Satsuma Kinzanzo and the "Drifters.

Drifters" is a manga by Kota Hirano, a manga artist known for "HELLSING" and other works. The story is about "drifters," great people who have been reincarnated into another world from various worlds, east, west, south and north, and the great people who are thought to have died an untimely death in history, and the "drifters" who have been reincarnated into another world. This is a fantasy work full of romance that transcends history, revolving around the conflict between the "Drifters" and the "Ends", a group of great men and women who have died a violent death in the course of history.
The protagonist of this work is Toyohisa Shimazu, who is confused when he sees Nobunaga Oda, who supposedly died 20 years ago, and Heian-era warlord Yoichi Nasu, but whether it is fate or the nature of warriors, he still plays an active role in the war, displaying his natural Satsuma Hayato personality.

If you have played Sengoku games, you have heard the name " Shimazu " at least once.
The "Shimazu clan" of Satsuma, which is considered the strongest among the fans of warlords, fought hard for the Western Army in the Battle of Sekigahara.
As the defeat of the western army was becoming more and more certain and many units were beginning to run away, the Shimazu forces led by Yoshihiro Shimazu broke through the eastern army in front of them, in other words, they retreated to the front, an unprecedented strategy of abandoning the enemy.
Thanks to the efforts of Shimazu Toyohisa and others, the general, Shimazu Yoshihiro, returned to Satsuma with flying colors. This unprecedented escape in the history of warfare was a great success.
This battle was later called " Shimazu's Retreat " and became the reason why the Satsuma Hayatonians are still talked about as the strongest fighting group in the world today.

The "Kinzankura Umeshu Long-Stored Drifters Collaboration" is a product that transcends history, just like the "Drifters" comic strip.
Toyohisa Shimazu was born in Kushikino Castle in what is now Ichiki-Kushikino City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and the Satsuma Kaiun Shrine, located in a cave in the Satsuma Kinzan Storehouse, is a branch of the Seihoko Shrine, which is dedicated to Toyohisa's uncle, Yoshihiro Shimazu.
To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Kanayamagura in Satsuma and the 450th anniversary of Shimazu Toyohisa's birth, a plum wine made in Ichiki-Kushikino City is being sold with the Drifters' Toyohisa Shimazu label.
Toyohisa Shimazu must have been surprised to learn that his illustration would be on the label of the plum wine.

<p>"Kinzankura Umeshu Long Storage Drifters Collaboration" is a <strong>potato shochu infused</strong> plum wine made with Nanko plums from Kagoshima Prefecture.
It is said to feature a <strong>rich and sweet taste</strong> that only long-term storage can provide.
The clarity is low, as if it were thick to look at. Moreover...</p

<p>What a <strong>gold leafed</strong>! The label also gives it a luxurious feel.
I've never had sake with gold leaf before...
<strong>Thank you so much Hamada Sake Brewery for sending us this special sake! </strong></p

<p>The moment you open the bottle, you can smell the aroma of plum wine, which is quite aromatic. The aroma alone is intoxicating.
To experience the true flavor of plum wine, it is best to drink it on the rocks! So we pour the thick plum wine into a glass with ice. </p

<p>We've all got our glasses, so let's have a toast!
Respecting the <strong>Azagamari strategy</strong> of Shimazu's army, who held their guns while sitting on their stomachs, the toast was also given in the form of a toast! </p> <p>I usually drink plum wine.
<p>Although I am a regular plum wine drinker, the ones I drank were all relatively light.
<strong>Kinzankura Umeshu Long Storage Drifters Collaboration"</strong> has a richness that sets it apart from other ume shochu I've had.
The soft sweetness of the sweet potato shochu and the refreshing sourness of the plums are irresistible. It is rich but easy to drink, so you will find yourself tongue-tied. (The alcohol content is 14 degrees.)</p

<p>We asked the other members what they thought. </p>
<h4>LAN Cable Man's Thoughts</h4
<p>I'm not a fan of plum wine, but this is good.
The richness and lingering sweetness of the brown sugar is irresistible.
I was going to drink it in small sips, but I think I'm going to end up guzzling it down. </p> </p
<h4>Band Members' Thoughts</h4>.
<p>Straight up, it has a <strong>rich, heavy rum-like aroma</strong> and a rich, malty taste.
When you add ice, the flavor spreads at once and it becomes easier to drink.
This time we drank it straight and on the rocks, but it would also be good with soda. </p> <h4>Nash Tajima

<p>The "Kinzankura Umeshu Long-Term Storage Drifters Collaboration" we reviewed is a <strong>historical gem</strong> recommended not only for Drifters fans and plum wine fans, but also for fans of the Warring States Warlords! </strong>
When it went on sale exclusively through the Hamada Shuzo online store on July 1, 2020</strong>, it was so well received that the limited quantity sold out in less than a month</strong>, and now additional bottles are available <a href="https://shochu.life/item/30048" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Hamada Shuzo online shop</a> is now selling additional bottles.
The online store also carries many other shochu and liqueurs, so why not take this opportunity to pick up each of the Satsuma Kinzan Kura brands as well? </p>
<p>In addition, <strong>Kouta Hirano's original art exhibition</strong>, the creator of the "Drifters" manga, is being held at the Seibu Shibuya store in Shibuya, Tokyo until November 1 (Sunday)!

<p>I hope people who have never read Drifters or have never had plum wine will drink this "<strong>Kinzankura Plum Wine, Long Storage, Drifters Collaboration</strong>."
We hope everyone will try this special bottle, which also contains gold leaf.
It is so delicious that you will easily take another sip and then another, but <strong>don't drink too much! </strong>And of course, <strong>you must be over 20 to drink! </strong></p>
