In the area for the newly launched "Sanrio Games" (referred to below as Sanrio Games), we got a hands-on preview of HELLO KITTY PARTY LAND, a party game for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2!

Hands-On Preview of HELLO KITTY PARTY LAND! Cooperative Mini-Games with a Unique Avatar
Launched in 2026, Sanrio Games is Sanrio's first official game brand.
HELLO KITTY PARTY LAND, a party game everyone can enjoy together, serves as their memorable debut title.
The organizers held a hands-on preview of this software at "Sanrio Fes 2026 in Minatomirai" in the Minatomirai area of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
Today, we bring you our report after actually experiencing character creation and three mini-games.
Character Creation in the World of Sanrio! Choose a Character to Spend Time with and Head to Party Land
As the preview begins, you first start with character creation!
You can create a cute character that perfectly fits the Sanrio world style to your own liking.
Customize your unique character by selecting various elements such as the following:
- Eye shape and color
- Hairstyle and hair color
- Eyebrow shape and color
- Skin tone
- Outfits
This time, we coordinated a soft, fluffy character using yellow and light blue!
You Can Also Choose a Sanrio Character to Spend Time With
Furthermore, in addition to character creation, you select a partner to spend time with!
Popular characters such as Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Hello Kitty are lined up.
I chose My Melody.
Once character selection is finished, it is time to head to Party Land!
As My Melody welcomes you, she gives you stickers, which are a collectible item, as a gift.
You can walk around Party Land freely, and My Melody looks adorable following behind you.
In this preview, we could only enter Game Park, where players can enjoy mini-games.
Let's challenge the mini-games right away in Game Park!
We played three mini-games this time, but the retail version will include over 45 variations.
All of them are cooperative, so you can have a fun, lively time playing with family and friends.
Fly, Bounce, and Gather Star Candy! Pompompurin's Bouncy Trampoline
The first mini-game is "Pompompurin's Bouncy Trampoline."
This is a game where you use jump actions to get as many star candies as possible.
When the game starts, colorful star candies appear from Pompompurin!
You jump on top of the trampoline-like Pompompurin to collect the magical star candies.
The sparkling sound effect when you grab them feels refreshing.
Landing on top of other characters lets you jump even higher!
We grabbed star candies located in high places by cooperating with other players.
Everyone divided up the work to gather star candies rapidly, bringing the game to an end!
At the end, the game totaled up the number of star candies collected by everyone.
The record was 261! We cleared it with a GOLD rank.
Aim and Grab the Stars! Little Twin Stars' Twinkling Star Fishing Challenge
The next mini-game is "Little Twin Stars' Twinkling Star Fishing Challenge."
This game features Kiki & Lala, where you cast your fishing rod with good timing to grab stars.
When the game starts, many stars appear in the gaps between fluffy clouds!
You reel in the stars that spin around Little Twin Stars with the right timing.
Matching this timing felt unexpectedly difficult!
Frequently, by the time you cast the fishing rod, the star has already passed by.
The number of stars increases in the latter half of the game, giving you the satisfying feeling of grabbing many stars with a single action.
Also, when a giant star hooks onto your fishing rod, mash the button!
You can score a lot of points by fishing up a large star.
The game ended in the blink of an eye!
Working together, we collected 365 stars. PLATINUM rank!
Let's Hit the Balls Back in Rhythm! Cinnamoroll's Home Run Derby
The final game is "Cinnamoroll's Home Run Derby."
You swing the bat to hit back the balls thrown by Cinnamoroll with good timing.
At this point, I changed my playable character to My Melody.
In mini-games, you can choose whether to play as your own character or a Sanrio character!
When the game starts, Cinnamoroll throws a ball!
You swing the bat at the exact moment the ball comes in front of your character.
Succeeded in hitting it back cleanly!
The ball that flew away became a home run and turned into fireworks in the night sky.
There are also times when balls fly toward all four players simultaneously!
Everyone hits them back with good timing.
As the game progresses, the tempo speeds up even more.
Cinnamoroll launches balls one after another from his large ears.
While flustered by the speed, I kept my eyes fixed on the balls and securely crushed home runs!
After playing three games, the hands-on preview came to an end.
In every mini-game, the lovely character style created an immersive experience.
Since you can aim to clear games while cooperating with other players, this should be perfect for playing with friends and family.
