Free beer, carbonated and ready to drink! I tried Suntory's "Beer Balls!"

Review

As November draws to a close and the season of drinking is finally upon us, December will bring more opportunities for drinking at year-end parties and the like. In order to prevent coronary infections, some year-end parties are held "at home" or "in the office," but if you buy all the drinks at once, you tend to end up with a lot of canned beer rather than buying the beverages you like best. If you are a gamer, it is better to buy a drink that will give you energy.

Gamers often drink alcoholic beverages to accompany their games, as they feel that drinks that give them energy = energy drinks, but there is also the problem of not being able to drink enough canned beer, or getting drunk too quickly. Suntory has released a new product that seems to have solved this problem! It is called " Beer Ball "!

What is a "Beer Ball"?

Saiga NAK

Beer Balls" are Japan's first "free beer" made with carbonation. It is made by mixing beer balls and soda (sparkling water), so you can change the proportions to your liking. The product, which has just gone on sale, is sometimes sold as a set with soda water, making it possible to purchase it at a discount. Of course, you can also buy your own, and mix it with whatever you prefer! Now, let us review the "beer ball," a true energy drink.

Saiga NAK

This is a beer ball from the soda water set purchased at a 7-Eleven store.

Saiga NAK

The product comes with instructions on how to drink it. This is a good thing even for beer ball beginners.

Saiga NAK

A feature of the Beer Ball is that even though the container is a bottle, you don't have to finish drinking it. A special re-corking cap is included, so you can carry over the undrinkable portion to a later date!

Saiga NAK

The re-corking cap looks like this. You have to be careful not to lose it.

The soda water set with the beer ball that I bought...

Saiga NAK

No way, it is not for sale. Or is it that they don't sell the existing products as a set? Well, let's drink it without worrying about the details!

Mixing Beer Balls with Royalty

Saiga NAK

This time, we purchased a variety of sparkling water to see what kind of sparkling water goes well with beer balls. Despite my enthusiasm, I can't drink all of them, so I decided to take the high road and mix a beer ball with a set of soda water I bought at a 7-Eleven.

Saiga NAK

First, fill a glass full of rock ice.

Saiga NAK

Then pour in the soda water...

Saiga NAK

Pour two thirds of the soda water.

Saiga NAK

It looks like this.

Saiga NAK

Then pour the beer ball into the glass with the soda water. The beer ball is a bottle, but you don't need a corkscrew to open it.

Saiga NAK

Dabba dabba dabba dabba

Saiga NAK

Oh, oh, oh, oh...!

Saiga NAK

The beer ball is ready! The beer ball looks like a regular beer and you can't tell the difference at all.

Saiga NAK

Two shots of the bottle and glass to commemorate the occasion.

Now the actual beer ball! I'm curious to know how it tastes...?

Saiga NAK

Cheers! According to LAN Cable Man, who is more picky about alcohol than anyone else, the taste is...

It has a taste reminiscent of IPA beer, but the bitterness is much less pronounced, making it easy to drink.

It is attractive in that you can adjust the concentration to your own taste. It can be diluted and drunk like a highball, but if you make it thicker, it goes perfectly with meat and spicy dishes.

Even those who do not like beer can enjoy it by mixing it with their favorite beverage, such as ginger ale instead of sparkling water. By trying different types of splits, you are likely to make new discoveries.

If you are a drinker whose drink of choice is energy drinks, the " Boilermaker," a cocktail that combines beer and whiskey, is also a good choice. Even though it has a punch, you can enjoy a "Boilermaker" with a higher-than-usual alcohol content by adding a high beer-bowl strength undiluted solution.

The beer ball is a good choice even for those who don't like beer. Even if you don't like beer, you can adjust it to your liking, so why not give beer balls a try?

Close the bottle if you can't finish it!

Saiga NAK

As mentioned earlier, the beer ball can be closed corked, so you don't have to drink it all in one go. If you get tired of drinking and playing games, close the bottle and drink again the next day!

This time, I drank a beer ball on the high street, but if I have a chance, I would like to try it with energy drinks such as ZONe. That's all for this beer ball review!
