Many device manufacturers exhibited at the Taipei Game Show 2025 (hereafter, TGS2025), held in Taipei from January 23 to 26, 2025.
Even the SD Card Association had a booth, showing how essential storage is for all digital devices, not just gaming.
Among them, "Western Digital," one of the world's leading storage manufacturers, also had a booth, so here's a report on their presence!
When It Comes to Gaming SSDs, It's "WD_BLACK"
Gaming SSDs offer faster game loading and quiet operation. It's no exaggeration to say that Western Digital's "WD_BLACK" is so popular that it's synonymous with gaming SSDs.
"WD_BLACK" offers many products not only for PCs but also for consoles like Xbox and PlayStation.
And, of course, they are officially licensed.
Both Internal and External SSDs
They displayed internal SSDs in two sizes and external SSDs in two sizes depending on capacity.
Even for internal SSDs, the stylish design is unique to "WD_BLACK."
Not Just SSDs, But Also microSD Cards
The company's brand "SanDisk" has an overwhelming share in SD cards and microSD cards, and naturally, they have high-capacity options needed for gaming.
The demand for microSD cards in the gaming industry has increased significantly with the rise of portable gaming PCs, not just for Nintendo Switch.
For PC games, large capacities are needed, so anything less than 1TB feels insufficient.
Western Digital, covering all kinds of gaming devices, holds a large share in not only SSDs but also SD cards and microSD cards.
Western Digital is truly formidable...
Street Fighter 6 Demo Also Available!
To demonstrate how comfortable gaming is with "WD_BLACK," a demo of "Street Fighter 6" was available.
Although unrelated to Western Digital, it was striking how many visitors played with keyboards.
It's the original leverless controller, after all, and it would be exciting if players participated in tournaments with keyboards.
Fun Photo Booth Too!
The booth also had a photo booth for commemorative pictures!
We had a blast taking pictures like this.
That's all for the TGS2025 "Western Digital" booth report!
