Dynamic Map Platform announced that it will exhibit during the Business Days of Tokyo Game Show 2026.
The booth will introduce data utilization methods that aid in 3DCG creation when recreating real-world roads and cityscapes, as well as optimizing location scouting.
Exhibition Content
Road Environment Construction for Games Utilizing High-Precision 3D Data
The high-precision 3D map data maintained by Dynamic Map Platform includes lane information, road geometry, curvature, slope, and elevation data.
This enables developers to efficiently carry out 3DCG modeling based on real-world roads for racing and open-world games.
Referencing point cloud data allows developers to inspect road environments from ground-level or any desired angle, reducing on-site scouting burdens and boosting production efficiency.
The company's high-precision 3D dataset spans approximately 1.8 million kilometers globally across Japan, North America, Europe, South Korea, and the Middle East, broadly meeting the needs of game development to recreate real-world spaces.
The exhibit will showcase the possibilities of game creation using real-world spatial data, including use cases with Apex Studio, which received data provision last year.
Photorealistic Reference Data Utilizing 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)
The booth will also showcase 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) data generated from high-precision 3D map data, point cloud data, and 360-degree camera imagery.
3DGS is a 3D data format capable of photorealistically recreating real-world roads and roadside environments.
In addition to serving as reference data for background creation, framing studies, and 3DCG asset modeling, it can also be used as shared material within development teams to visualize actual road conditions.
A major feature is its recreation of noiseless road spaces with moving objects such as driving vehicles and pedestrians removed, allowing free exploration from any perspective.
It can serve as an effective substitute for field surveys and location scouting.
Demo videos of 3DGS recreating real-world road environments will demonstrate practical applications for game development.
