This season has arrived again.
The official team league battle of "Street Fighter 6", "Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2025 (hereinafter, SFL: Pro-JP 2025)", will begin on Friday, August 29, 2025.
For the fifth consecutive year, Taiyo Holdings Co., Ltd. has been welcomed as the top partner, and the total prize money is 15 million yen!
We will bring you a report on the joint interview held before the opening of "SFL: Pro-JP 2025"!
The team interviewed this time is "CAG OSAKA".
Interview with CAG OSAKA!
Fenritti, Eita, Uryo, and Takagi (from left)Saiga NAK
(The following is a translation of an interview conducted in Japanese.)
― Please tell us about the characters you plan to use and your impression of Takagi.
Fenritti (from left)Saiga NAK
Fenritti: The character I plan to use is JP.
My impression of Takagi is that he's very cheerful and serious about the game. Although the league hasn't started yet, he's practicing diligently, so I'm actually worried that he might be too stressed.
EitaSaiga NAK
Eita: For characters, I might use Akuma and Ryu.
My impression of Takagi is, as Fenritti hinted at, that he's a fool (laughs).
He's a fool in a really good way, and he's polite, but I can tell he's very loved.
Ever since it was decided that Takagi would participate in the league, so many people have said, "Is Takagi okay?" and "Please take care of his mental health."
He has the trust of other league players, and I think he'll win no matter what. I truly believe we made the right choice in picking him.
I've experienced it myself, but your mind breaks in the first year, so I hope I can take care of him as a "broken mind senior."
Uryo, TakagiSaiga NAK
Uryo: For characters, I want to use Jamie and Chun-Li, and C. Viper, who hasn't been released yet.
I haven't had much interaction with Takagi until now, and Eita told me, "He's a cheerful, honest, good kid, but he's a fool," and that's exactly right today (laughs).
He's very serious about playing, so I think he'll perform beyond everyone's expectations. SFL is very tough if you keep losing, so I hope the three of us veterans can take good care of him and create a better match environment. Your support for Takagi would be greatly appreciated.
― Please tell us about the characters you plan to use and your impression of CAG OSAKA.
Saiga NAK
Takagi: My character is Blanka.
My first impression was that everyone spoke standard Japanese (laughs).
No Kansai dialect, so my first impression was, "Are they really from Osaka?"
I feel like not only all the members, but also the staff and related people, care a lot about me.
― The rules have changed since last season, and "SFL: Pro-JP 2025" seems to be a tournament that will test the overall strength of all four players.
Fenritti: Originally, the rules stated that the fourth player didn't necessarily have to participate, so I think it's good that everyone is given the opportunity to play.
Until now, there were situations where it was difficult to use a certain character against a certain opponent due to character matchups.
Such mind games have decreased, and anyone can play, so I think it's good that there's no longer a bias like "this person for this person" or "this character is definitely easy to use."
Saiga NAK
Fenritti: I think we're on better terms than other teams, but what do you think?
Eita: Really?
We don't really talk much in private, do we?
Have you ever talked to me about something other than games? (laughs)
Takagi: When I send a LINE message, I get three read receipts and no reply (laughs).
Eita: Sorry, I'm being stopped.
They say it's better not to spoil him too much until he produces results... (laughs)
Takagi: I knew it.
Uryo: Eita! Don't say that!
Fenritti: ...Well, as you can see, we're on good terms (laughs).
We usually stream together during practice, so I think you'll enjoy it more if you see how close our team is and how seriously we approach things. Please cheer for us.
― Please tell us your impression of Division S.
Saiga NAK
Fenritti: Personally, I find last season's champions, Good 8 Squad, terrifying.
This time, we'll need to prepare countermeasures for various characters that we haven't faced much last season, such as Rashid, Ed, Juri, A.K.I., and Dee Jay, so I feel threatened.
EitaSaiga NAK
Eita: I think every team will be tough, but personally, there are some matches I want to see, and I think matches between REJECT and Akira will be interesting. (※Akira belongs to REJECT as an individual but will participate in "SFL: Pro-JP 2025" as Hiroshima TEAM iXA)
Also, personally, I wanted to go to F.
Leaving aside whether it's tough or not, I wanted to teach GO1 a lesson.
I wanted to directly show the former CAG OSAKA member that he can't beat me.
He ran away (laughs).
So, I hope he tries his best to make it to the offline stage, and I'll defeat him personally.
Also, I wanted to play against Umehara.
I said I wanted to play against him in the last interview too, but this time we were on opposite sides and neither of us made it to offline.
I'd be happy if we could face each other this time.
UryoSaiga NAK
Uryo: This time, teams like Victrix FAV gaming are incredibly strong.
They were strong last season too, but they've changed completely, and they're definitely not a last-place team, so I think any match will be tough.
Also, personally, I'm still paying attention to Good 8 Squad.
I thought Sahara might not be used to tournaments, but he's been getting consistent results in international tournaments, so all four of them are strong and the team has high overall power, so they're a team to watch out for.
Also, I want to win and play against DetonatioN FocusMe.
All four members were my former teammates in Street Fighter V and Street Fighter 6, so I hope we can both do our best and play on the offline stage.
TakagiSaiga NAK
Takagi: Honestly, looking at this, I don't really understand much (laughs).
Everyone is strong.
From my perspective, I know all their names, so there's no particular team that's "crazy."
The scariest thing is probably myself (laughs).
Right now, I'm quite scared of myself.
How far will I go? (laughs)
That's how it is.
