A complete remake of Fate/EXTRA, originally released in 2010 as the Fate series' first RPG, Fate/EXTRA Record is confirmed for a simultaneous worldwide release on Thursday, January 28, 2027.
Supported platforms include PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
In Fate/EXTRA Record, the original scenario has been expanded and character graphics have been completely overhauled.
Combat has been reimagined into a strategic, deck-building command card battle system, refining every element to contemporary standards.
Starting on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 8:00 PM, the Fate/EXTRA Record Game Introduction & Latest News Program will stream on the official TYPE-MOON GAMES YouTube channel.
Narrated by Atsushi Abe and Yui Ishikawa, who voice the protagonists, the broadcast will reveal the latest updates on the game.

Moon Cell Automaton - A supercomputer that was discovered on the Moon.
The Moon Cell created the Holy Grail, an omnipotent machine capable of granting any wish. Thus began the Holy Grail War, a tournament through which the victor would claim the Holy Grail.
The stage: SE.RA.PH, a digital world constructed on the Moon.
The combatants: 128 Masters, each bearing a hidden wish for the Holy Grail and commanding a hero drawn from human history known as a Servant. They do battle until only one remains.
The protagonist: You, a Master who has lost your memories. Your only chance of survival is to contract a Servant and join this brutal war.

The Moon Holy Grail War featured in this title is a seven-round elimination tournament contested by 128 Masters.
On the opening day, only the opposing Master's name is disclosed, while the enemy Servant's identity remains completely shrouded in mystery.
To uncover the opponent's "True Name"—crucial intelligence directly tied to their combat style, Noble Phantasms, and tactical vulnerabilities—players must gather information across the arena prior to the duel seven days later.
To qualify for the decisive battle, players must explore the arena filled with environmental gimmicks and hostile enemies while leveling up their Servant.
The week culminates in a dramatic one-on-one duel directing your Servant against the opponent's, in a ruthless survival war where the loser is immediately eliminated on the spot.
Evolving into a Deck-Building Command Card Battle System! Distinct Tactics for Every Servant
The combat in Fate/EXTRA Record adopts a deck-building command card battle system.
Players select commands from a randomly dealt hand and expend AP to issue tactical orders to their Servant.
Commands come in three variations: Attack for dealing damage, Guard for defending, and Skill for buffs or specialized maneuvers.
Defeating formidable enemies rewards you with new commands, and commands can also be enhanced through Art Phantasmagoria.
Players will assemble diverse commands to build customized decks tailored to their battle strategies.
Tactical playstyles also differ dramatically depending on the Servant.
Saber specializes in an aggressive style, buffing herself with skills to unleash crushing blows; Archer relies on rapid multi-hit combos across diverse weaponry; and Caster excels in highly strategic warfare utilizing talismans to orchestrate delayed-trigger magical assaults.
During combat and exploration, players can heal HP using items, and Masters can also activate Code Cast by equipping Mystic Codes.
Support your Servant with healing and command replenishments to emerge victorious in the Holy Grail War.

To coincide with the release date announcement, physical pre-orders and digital pre-orders for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 are now live.
