"Fate/EXTRA Record" Set for Release on Thursday, January 28, 2027! Pre-orders Now Open on Various Platforms

During the " State of Play Japan " stream on Thursday, September 3, 2026, it was announced that " Fate/EXTRA Record," developed by TYPE-MOON, will be released worldwide simultaneously on Thursday, January 28, 2027.
In addition, the latest trailer was released, and pre-orders for the physical edition, as well as for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions, are now open.

" Fate/EXTRA Record," a full remake of "Fate/EXTRA"—the first RPG in the Fate series released in 2010—is set for a simultaneous worldwide release on Thursday, January 28, 2027.
Supported platforms include PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

In " Fate/EXTRA Record," the scenarios have been expanded upon from the original, and the character graphics have been revamped.
The battle system has been transformed into a deck-building command card battle system with enhanced strategic depth, and various other elements have been refined to suit modern tastes.

Additionally, the “Fate/EXTRA Record Game Introduction & Latest Information Announcement Program” will be streamed on the official TYPE-MOON GAMES YouTube channel starting at 8:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026.
The program will feature the latest information on the game, narrated by Atsushi Abe, who voices the protagonist, and Yui Ishikawa, so be sure to check it out.

The “ Moon Holy Grail War ” unfolding in this game is a seven-round tournament featuring 128 Masters.

On the first day, only the names of the enemy Masters are revealed; the identities of their Servants remain unknown.
To uncover their “True Names”—crucial information regarding their combat styles and weaknesses—you must gather various pieces of intelligence before the decisive battle seven days later.

Furthermore, to qualify for the final battle, you must explore the arena—where traps and enemies lie in wait—while leveling up your own Servant.
Finally, you’ll face off in a one-on-one duel commanding your respective Servants in a brutal battle where the loser is eliminated on the spot.

" Fate/EXTRA Record " features a deck-building command card battle system.
Select commands from your randomly dealt hand and spend AP to issue actions to your Servant.

There are three types of commands: Attack commands that deal damage, Guard commands that block attacks, and Skill commands that provide buffs or perform special actions.
In addition to acquiring new commands by defeating powerful enemies, you can also enhance your commands using “ Shadow Projection of the Soul.”
You’ll combine various commands to build a deck tailored to your own tactics.

Furthermore, tactical styles vary greatly depending on the Servant.
Saber is characterized by an aggressive style that builds up power through skills to deliver a powerful single strike; Archer employs a series of attacks using a variety of weapons; and Caster engages in highly strategic combat that makes use of time-delayed attacks via talismans.
