God of War Laufey Announced! Latest Information Revealed
During the State of Play broadcast on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Santa Monica Studio announced they are developing God of War Laufey, the latest title in the God of War series.
In this title, Laufey, Kratos's wife and a warrior from the Norse Mythology Arc, serves as the protagonist. The more than 20-minute released trailer shows Laufey exploring The Everywhen, the afterlife of the gods, and fighting actively.
Through her journey, Laufey attempts to uncover the secrets hidden in the Everywhen and reveal its true form. What exactly awaits her in the afterlife of the gods?
New Action Elements Added! Combat Of A Legendary Warrior
While retaining the strengths of the combat system from previous titles, the game adds new actions. It reproduces seamless, fluid movements that maximize Laufey's lethality, power, and fluidity.
The Legendary Sword, perfectly suited for a legendary warrior, appears as a weapon. She unleashes a continuous barrage of attacks on enemies, one after another, both on the ground and in the air, maintaining momentum.
Furthermore, as the Golden Hand of the Jötnar, the strongest guardian of the giant race, Laufey also possesses formidable powers, including the ability to interfere with souls. She can strike enemies with her golden palm, rip their souls from their bodies to attack the souls directly, or even hurl them at other enemies.
Companions Join The Adventure
Following God of War Ragnarök, Deborah Ann Woll (@DeborahAnnWoll) plays the role of Laufey.
Furthermore, two new companions appear. Phranque, voiced by Jack Quaid (@JackQuaid92), is a curious and loyal Cosmic Cube. He will do anything to protect his companions and the creatures living in the Everywhen.
Rue, voiced by Perlina Lau (@perlinalau), is an Enchanted Ribbon bound to a certain sword. That sword possesses immense power, and Rue acts as its guardian to ensure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

Santa Monica Studio released a dialogue-style interview video featuring Cory Barlog, Creative Director at Santa Monica Studio, and Ariel Lawrence (@TKittenWritten), Game Director of God of War Laufey.
