Nintendo has announced the implementation of the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program, a new service test for Nintendo Switch Online. The playtest is expected to have 10,000 participants and is scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, to 9:59 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Japan Standard Time.
A New "Nintendo Switch Online" Service, the "Playtest Program," Is Now Live!
Nintendo has announced a test for a new service for Nintendo Switch Online called the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program.
To qualify for this playtest, users must have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription as of 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Japan time.
Additionally, to participate, your Nintendo Account must be for a user who is 18 years or older as of 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Japan time, and the country registered to your account must be one of the following:
- Japan
- The United States of America
- The United Kingdom
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Spain
To apply, you can register from the "Go to Application Page" button on the official Nintendo website. The number of playtest participants is planned to be around 10,000. If there are many applicants, participants will be decided by a lottery for Japanese users and on a first-come, first-served basis for users outside of Japan.
The application period is from 12:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Japan time, so users who meet the qualifications should not forget to apply.
The playtest is scheduled to be held from 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, to 9:59 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, and participating users will need to download special software.
