Microsoft previously gave us a glimpse of their Project Scarlett at E3 2019, which was announced to be on the market in time for Holiday 2020.
Not knowing much about the new console after only being fed a vague video by Microsoft, gamers were looking for more. Then, at The Game Awards 2019, we got a look at the new console. And a name.
Xbox Series X
Microsoft introduced their Xbox Series X at The Game Awards 2019 in a stunning 4K trailer in order to show off the design of the the new console in detail.
With the controller standing next to the console, we were able to get a good sense of the size of the console, which seemed to be about as big as a compact gaming computer.
The body of the console is a smooth black, with a signature light in Xbox Green flowing out of the top of the system.
Set to release near the end of 2020
The Xbox Series X's release date hasn't changed from the original Project Scarlett release date of Holiday 2020.
Of course, specs and price are still unknown, but we can imagine the specs for this next generation console will be pretty high.
We're looking forward to followups from Microsoft!
