The Brightest in Dangbei History, Dangbei DBOX02
Dangbei has developed numerous projectors, such as Mars Pro, a 4K home projector capable of projecting up to 200 inches, and Emotn N1, which obtained an official Netflix license. On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, they released their newest model, the Dangbei DBOX02. The brightest projector in Dangbei history has been born!
Bam!
This is the Dangbei DBOX02 in its square box. According to Dangbei, it is the world's first Netflix-certified 4K laser projector equipped with Google TV.
The contents are quite simple, consisting only of the Dangbei DBOX02 unit, a remote control, power cables, a cleaning cloth, and documentation.
Since Google TV is installed, the remote has a Google Assistant button. Additionally, hotkeys for YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video are provided.
Next, let's take a 360-degree look at the Dangbei DBOX02 unit!
The front features a large lens and a camera sensor. The lens projects the image, and the camera assists with focus and keystone correction.
Saiga NAK
The right side is almost entirely covered with small vent holes and features the Dolby Audio mark. The dual 12W built-in speakers installed in the Dangbei DBOX02 support Dolby Audio and are compatible with DTS:X.
Accordingly, there is a large vent with a collection of small holes on the left side as well. Make sure not to block it with objects or walls during operation.
Various I/O ports are provided on the back along the seamlessly continuing vents. From the left as you face it, the layout is as follows:

On the bottom are four feet and a socket for a PTZ bracket. If you purchase a stand sold separately, it also supports installation at high locations or ceiling mounting.
On the top surface, there is a light sensor used for brightness adjustment and an LED power button. Connect the power adapter and touch the button to power it on!

With 2450 ISO lumens, the best in Dangbei history... bang! With the Dangbei DBOX02, you can easily enjoy large-screen images from the start.
Access to various video streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, ABEMA, and TVer is also easy! It supports both wired and Wi-Fi connections.
Since the Dangbei DBOX02 is Dangbei's new flagship model, its performance is also top-tier. Automatic keystone correction supports up to plus or minus 30 degrees.
Autofocus and manual focus are also available. The projectable size is recommended to be 80 to 120 inches, but it supports 60 to 200 inches.
This time, due to wall constraints, we could only project up to about 150 inches, but we didn't notice any graininess in the image at all. The 4K resolution is not just for show.

Let's try connecting the MSI Claw A1M, which we recently welcomed to the Saiga NAK editorial department, via HDMI through USB-C!
The dragon reflected on the big screen looks cool! The Claw A1M has the advantage of being portable, but at home, you want to enjoy it on a large screen.
Pressing the side button on the remote takes you instantly to settings for focus, correction, speaker mode, and more.
A function called smart eye protection is provided in the detailed settings; brightness is suppressed when an obstacle, such as a person, is detected in the projection range.
Since you must never look directly at the projector's light, it is a smart and helpful function.
This one-click file deletion removes dust inside the unit by intentionally increasing the fan speed. The slight mistranslation in the menu is a small quirk.
I unfortunately didn't notice until I increased the fan speed with one-click file deletion, but the Dangbei DBOX02 is extremely quiet during normal operation. The Mars Pro, another high-end model we introduced previously, had noticeable heat generation and accompanying fan noise, so I think this is a subtly significant improvement.
The Dangbei DBOX02, the new flagship model developed by Dangbei, was released on Tuesday, May 28, 2024! In addition to Amazon.co.jp and Rakuten Ichiba, it will also be carried by home appliance retailers such as Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera, and Yamada Denki. The price is 1899.00 USD, which is fitting for a high-end model, but considering that a 100-inch TV costs way more... it's a great value!
