TGS2026: PlayStation Booth Report! Immersive Grand Theft Auto VI Theater and Hands-On Demos for 4 Latest Titles Including MHWA

The gaming festival Tokyo Game Show 2026 took place from Thursday, September 17 through Sunday, September 20, 2026.
In this report, we bring you coverage of the PlayStation booth hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment, featuring playable demos for four new titles and a sensory Grand Theft Auto VI theater experience powered by Sony technology!

PlayStation Booth Report!

At the front of the PlayStation booth, a photo spot featuring the iconic logo welcomed visitors.
First, we headed straight to the Grand Theft Auto VI theater, which required a timed entry ticket!

Distinguished by its stylish key art, Grand Theft Auto VI took center stage.
Inside this theater, attendees could experience the latest trailer powered by a massive 300-inch screen and Sony's floor haptics technology.

Lining up first thing on Business Day 1, we secured a numbered ticket for the 2:55 PM session!
When the time arrived, we joined the queue.

Entering the theater revealed a massive screen dominating the room.
Accommodating roughly 20 people, the space featured black square seats.
Putting on our headphones, we waited with excitement for the show to begin!

The trailer opens with the two protagonists heading to pick up Boobie's stash.
Tension steadily escalates as the scene unfolds, culminating in a fierce shootout against the police!

The instant protagonist Jason fired at an officer, the theater seat vibrated.
It felt as though you had pulled the trigger yourself!

The trailer showcased snappy dialogue between the two protagonists, nail-biting car chases, and an engrossing criminal underworld storyline.
With the seats rumbling at every impact and directional headphone audio surrounding the listener, it delivered an incredibly immersive 30-minute experience.

After the screening, staff distributed an exclusive novelty T-shirt for theater attendees.
The PlayStation logo styled in the color palette of Grand Theft Auto VI's key art looked remarkably sleek.

The game is scheduled for release on Thursday, November 19, 2026!

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance

Scheduled for release in 2027, this title is a massive expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Many attendees thoroughly enjoyed the further evolved action mechanics and intense battles against the Elder Dragon Teostra!

Final Fantasy VII Liberation

Serving as the concluding chapter of the FF7 remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Liberation also featured a dedicated demo booth.
It is scheduled to launch on Thursday, April 8, 2027.

Set within the Whirlwind Maze, the pilot Cid joins the party as a new companion.
The demo also featured dramatic story events centering on protagonist Cloud and Sephiroth!

Marvel's Wolverine

Marvel's Wolverine had just launched on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

In addition to playable demos, a photo spot featuring the protagonist Wolverine was set up!
The texture and sheen of his razor-sharp claws looked remarkably lifelike.

ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE

ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE is a dramatic flight shooting game scheduled for release on Friday, October 2, 2026.
At the demo stations, attendees took to the skies as ace pilots, enjoying exhilarating aerial dogfights.
