The " Tekken World Tour 2024 (TWT2024)" certification tournament started in Japan with the recent "EVO Japan 2023" event. A new battle to become the world's best Tekken player has already begun..!
DOJO Tournament "CELLPRO SINGLES" is now open!
The DOJO tournament "CELLPRO SINGLES" was held on Sunday, May 12, 2024at Red Bull Gaming Sphere Tokyo, where players' results will affect their ranking in TWT2024. This tournament is part of DOJO 96+, so the winner will receive 150 global and regional points. This will be a great start for TWT2024, which is about to begin in earnest.
CELLPRO SINGLES" has been updated to v1.04, the latest version available on the day of the competition. This means that there have been many adjustments to the game in general and to each character, and with v1.05 scheduled for release in June 2024, Tekken 8 is shifting to increase the value of players' defensive techniques. Since the title was just released in January 2024, players will have to adapt to the changing environment as they go about their daily practice and competitions.
Strong Players Make a Name for Themselves
116 players entered the "CELLPRO SINGLES" tournament, including THY chikurin, winner of the recent "EVO Japan 2023," YOSHIMOTO Gaming's Mogutan, VARREL's Rangchu PINYA, AO, and many other professional players are also participating in the tournament.
The two players who won the fierce competition and advanced to the Winner's Final were e_spopia Shonen (hereafter Shonen) and THY chikurin. Shonen was able to counter THY chikurin's Lili, which he also showed at EVO Japan 2024, with a semi.
The audience was riveted by the aggressive matchups typical of Tekken 8. The match went to a full set and a full round, but before Chikurin could use his heat, Shonen, in a state of rage and heat, attacked furiously! The boy decides to let go and advances to the Grand Final with the winners.
The Routers Final was VARREL Rangchu 's Shaheen versus Chiklin's Lili. Rangchu, who had won the previous Routers Semifinal, had the momentum, but was unable to match Lili's destructive attack, and Chickling won in straight sets to advance to the Grand Final.
In the Grand Final, the two players met again, this time in a rematch. Chickling, who started the tournament with a handicap, was on the roosers' side, but he was able to keep the pace of the game, which was a complete change from the winners' final. The Grand Final resets with a match that could be described as overwhelming!
Chikurin's Lili, who had the flow of the game at once, used the Explosion Wall and pushed the advantageous choices. The way of fighting changed depending on the stage chosen at random.
The boy's semi also started to take control of the pace, but Chikurin's Lili used her mobility and counters to keep the game close. In the end, Chikurin won the tournament by a perfect score with a heat, and won the tournament from the losers!
Chikurin also earned 150 Global Regional Points for TWT2024, making him the #2 ranked player in the Japan Region and the #1 ranked player in the Global Region at the time of this writing.
Comment from Ranchu, 3rd place
Yesterday (TZCUP) I was 3rd, and today I was 3rd again... You may think my ranking is high, but I am one step away. Next week, there will be another DOJO, so I will do my best to achieve better results than ever.
Comment from the runner-up, a boy
I was lucky, and I am very happy that I was able to beat a player I had not been able to beat before. To everyone in Niigata, we are the runners-up! Yay!
Comment from the winner, Chikurin
I had a bad loss to a boy player in the Winner's Final, so I was thinking about how to respond to him as I played against him. I am gradually getting to participate in offline tournaments like this, and I really enjoyed the event. I hope to continue to actively participate and let everyone experience the fun of "Tekken". Thank you very much for your time today.
CELLPRO SINGLES" held at Red Bull Gaming Sphere Tokyo on Sunday, May 12, 2024, came to a successful conclusion! At the end of the event, a raffle was held to award prizes to players from Tekken Project, Qanba, and Invincible Time, the sponsors of the event. A surprise announcement was made that a 2-on-2 "CELLPRO CUP" would be held in the summer of 2024! We look forward to seeing more and more excitement for "Tekken 8," including the "TWT2024," which has just begun.
