Joetsu City Aquatic Museum " Umi-no-Tari " in Niigata Prefecture, which celebrated its 5th anniversary, is holding "Umi-no-Tari SUMMER 2023" from July 15, 2023 (Sat.) as a project to enjoy summer. The event will feature a night aquarium and other events with different specifications than usual to enjoy summer. In addition, "Atsumare Animal Crossing x Joetsu City Aquatic Museum Umi-no-Tari: Sea Creatures Friendship Exhibition", a collaboration project with "Atsumare Animal Cross ing", is also being held.
Connecting games and the real world to create new value!
In order to let people know the attraction of sea creatures, "Umi ga Tari" is holding a collaborative event with "Atsumare Animal Crossing" in which various sea creatures will appear, called "Atsumare Animal Crossing x Joetsu City Aquatic Museum Umi no Namino Fureai Exhibition. Animal Crossing x Joetsu City Aquatic Museum "Atsumare Animal Crossing x Joetsu City Aquatic Museum With BGM in the game and explanatory panels by game characters, you can learn about sea creatures while having fun in the world of the game.

Special Exhibit! Observe the sea creatures that appear in "Atsumare Animal Crossing"!
35 species of sharks and sea creatures that appear in "Atsumare Animal Crossing" are on display in the "Umigatari Large Tank", "Umigatari Tube", and other locations throughout the museum. Original commentary panels are placed in each tank, where visitors can enjoy the commentary of "Hoota," a character that appears in the game, and trivia about the creatures by aquarium staff. Also, don't miss the special exhibits of the " Long-eared Sea Kiwi (specimen )" and " giant giant giant octopus (specimen) " during the period of the exhibition.

Let's meet the residents of the "Atsumare Animal Crossing" stamp rally!
A stamp rally is now being held to collect stamps with the faces of the residents of "Atsumare Animal Crossing". The stamp rally book (available for an additional fee) includes a checklist of the sharks and seafood exhibited in this project. If you successfully collect 10 different stamps and reach the goal, you will receive a stamp rally goal commemorative postcard, so give it a try!

Dolphin Performance - Summer Splash
ash~The popular Dolphin Performance will make its Summer Splash version this summer. During the performance, dolphins' dynamic jumps and splashes from their tail fins will rain down on the "Hyper Splash Area" in the first and second rows of seats in the center of the performance. Enjoy the exhilarating jumps and the dolphins' synchronized performances with the trainer against the backdrop of the Sea of Japan!

The background music of "Mai-Sardine Shiny Illusion," in which approximately 20,000 Japanese sardines swim in groups in the "Umigatari Large Tank," will be changed to a summer version. Enjoy the sight of approximately 20,000 Japanese sardines swimming in a school to the "summery" music.

Workshop "Pearl Extraction Experience
"Pearl Extraction Experience"In this workshop, participants will be able to open a shell and extract pearls from a real Akoya pearl oyster. The color, shape, and size of the pearls vary from shell to shell, so imagine what kind of pearls will come out. Pearls extracted in the workshop can be processed into jewelry and taken home for a fee. You can also take the pearls home to make your own unique jewelry to commemorate your workshop experience!

Discover! Exploration! Night Aquarium
NightStarting Saturday, July 15, 2023, a special nighttime opening will be held on a weekly basis! Explore! Night Aquarium" is being held on a weekly basis from Saturday, July 15, 2023. In this event, the first half is a "Discover! Part" and "Explore! Part" and "Explore! Part" in the second half of the event, allowing visitors to enjoy new opportunities for discovery and exploration. The "Discover! Part" features a different theme each time, including lectures by aquarium staff, "Adult Solo Aquarium," and seminars and talk events by outside lecturers. The latter half, "Explore! part" is an exploration of every corner of the Aquarium under the cover of darkness. While walking around with a flashlight in hand, visitors will be able to observe creatures that they cannot normally see at night, such as a giant Pacific octopus moving around actively and a bottlenose dolphin sleeping peacefully. The museum is also a good place for free research, as it will be conducting experiments on the luminescence of sea fireflies.
