AZSTOKE Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "AZSTOKE"), a company specializing in game sound development, has released " GRAVITY," a tech demo composed of audio recordings from " SKYSQUARE," the outdoor-focused field studio it operates.
The company has also confirmed its participation in " CEDEC 2026."
"SKYSQUARE" Tech Demo Released! Powerful, Realistic Audio
All sounds in the newly released "GRAVITY" were recorded at SKYSQUARE.
The demo depicts the official character "Loopdirock" making its way through a scene where massive steel beams and various metal objects are falling one after another from the rain-soaked sky above.
The team thoroughly pursued the subtle nuances that can only be captured through on-site recording—such as the overwhelming sense of scale of the objects, the unique variations in sound with each collision, and the raw, gritty texture of metal rubbing against metal.
Through meticulous sound adjustments, they have created an audio experience that delivers a sense of presence, making you feel as if you were actually there.
"One-ton steel beams" and heavy machinery! An unprecedented recording method
For the recording, the team reportedly purchased multiple massive steel beams with a combined weight of nearly one ton, setting up a recording system that allowed for immediate on-site use.
Recording was carried out using a bold technique that went beyond standard studio work: a Yanmar excavator deployed on-site hoisted the steel beams high into the air, causing them to free-fall.

This “life-risking realism” was made possible by the large-scale operation of heavy machinery, thorough safety measures, and exceptional filming techniques.
It was only made possible by the vast acoustic space of “SKYSQUARE.”
Recording the "earth-shaking" sound using large subwoofers and power amplifiers
We conducted a unique “ground-rumbling” sound recording using a combination of CLASSIC PRO CPW18II-4 woofer units and YAMAHA PC4002 power amplifiers.
Our skilled staff built the entire sound infrastructure from scratch and captured vibrations with microphones to create this highly challenging ground-rumbling sound.
To achieve a sense of scale, we selected 18-inch speakers.
We successfully reproduced a “realistic rumbling sound where the air itself vibrates” while preventing sound thinning or distortion caused by insufficient power.
Recording Ambient Sounds in Adverse Weather Conditions (Rain and Thunder)
The realistic sounds of rain and thunder you experience in "GRAVITY" were recorded from actual natural phenomena.
Our staff waited on-site until ideal stormy conditions arrived, capturing the raw, undulating atmosphere and dynamic shifts in the weather—unique to that specific day and location—and encapsulating them within the tech demo.
Exhibiting at "CEDEC 2026" in Yokohama! "Real Sounds" Open to the Public
AZSTOKE will be exhibiting at " CEDEC 2026," taking place at Pacifico Yokohama from Wednesday, July 22 to Friday, July 24, 2026.
We plan to publicly share specific data and technologies obtained during the "GRAVITY" recording process, as well as our approaches to solving the challenges we faced.
We will also be hosting a session on next-generation game audio.
