Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. released an update for the latest Bomberman series title, SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
This update introduces Luca Blight from Suikoden II as a playable character, alongside various new features including a room lobby system.
SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2 Update Released! Luca Blight Arrives
Konami released an update for the latest Bomberman series entry, SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2.
With this update, Luca Blight from Suikoden II—which also has an upcoming remaster—joins the roster as a playable character.
Luca Blight features an aggressive skill that allows him to slash with a flame-enveloped sword, destroying surrounding bombs and blocks.
Collect gems to get the Luca Blight Bomber in the in-game shop!
Room Lobby Feature Added
This update adds a room lobby feature, which lists players currently hosting match rooms and lets you select and join any room of your choice.
Additionally, players can now enter or leave match rooms even while a battle is underway.
Play Again Button Added to Results Screen
The update adds a Play Again button to the results screens for both room matches and offline battles, allowing players to jump right back in with the same settings.
This allows players to keep playing with identical settings without having to return to the room screen after a battle ends.
In addition to these new features, the update includes several adjustments to improve overall playability:
- The maximum number of match rounds can now be set to 99.
- Battle preparation time for room matches can now be shortened.
- Movement speed on the Standard mode Power Zone stage has been changed from 2 to 3.
- Fixed an issue where players could trigger consecutive stun techniques during battles.
From the addition of a new playable character to the highly requested room lobby feature based on user surveys, version 1.3.0 brings a variety of updates.
Accessing online features requires updating to the latest version, so don't forget to update!
