Capcom has begun distributing an early-game demo for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of " Monster Hunter Wilds."
The full game is scheduled for release on Friday, December 4, 2026, and save data from the demo can be carried over to the full game.
The early-game demo for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of "Monster Hunter Wilds" is now available!
The demo covers the early stages of the game, from character creation through the prologue and up to Chapter 1-3, “Into the Forest.”
Players take on the role of a hunter in the Forbidden Zone Survey Team. While upgrading their equipment with materials obtained from hunts, they’ll investigate a monster known as the “White Lone Shadow” and attempt to rescue the Guardian Clan, which has come under attack.
Another highlight is the chance to battle monsters making their debut in this title, such as defeating Chatakabra and hunting Kematris.
You can experience not only the distinctive actions of each of the 14 weapon types but also get a feel for new actions like “Focus Mode” and “Focused Weak Point Attack.”
During character creation, you can customize not only your hunter’s appearance and voice but also their mannerisms to suit your preferences.
Additionally, if you’re nervous about hunting solo, you can send a distress signal during a quest, and an NPC support hunter will rush to your aid.
Multiplayer for up to 4 players by bringing your own Switch 2 consoles
Not only can you play on a big, immersive screen by connecting to a TV, but if you bring your Switch 2 consoles and the demo version together in Handheld Mode, you can also enjoy local wireless multiplayer with up to four friends wherever you gather.
To play, each player needs their own Switch 2 console and a copy of the demo version; local wireless play is not available between the demo and the full version.
Hunters and equipment created in the demo can be carried over to the full version
Since save data from the demo can be carried over to the full version, you can continue playing right where you left off using the same Hunter and equipment you’ve collected.
Any option settings you adjusted in the demo will also be carried over to the full version, and you can transfer your progress even if you haven’t completed the demo.
