Sony announces plans to bring PlayStation IP to mobile devices!

Sony announced the subsidiaries Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) plans to develop PlayStation video games for mobile devices at 3rd quarter financial results meeting held on February 2, 2022.

Sony Group's Mobile Game Business Expansion

Sony Group is already running games for mobile devices, and one of its subsidiaries is ForwardWorks, a studio that creates games for mobile phone devices.
Recently, one subsidiary of "Sony Music Entertainment," "ANIPLEX," has made "LASENGLE" a subsidiary of "ANIPLEX." "LASENGLE" was split off from the game business of "DELiGHTWORKS," the development company of "Fate/Grand Order."

The project is for "Intellectual Property (IP) of PlayStation games." Still, it is unclear if it includes IP developed by SIE or third parties.
Third parties are offering games from previous generations of consoles for mobile phones. We are excited to see what kind of games will be available for mobile devices in the future.

SIE has already launched mobile games such as "Arc the Lad R(※)" and is expanding to multiple platforms by providing some of its games not only for PlayStation but also for PC.
