Sony launches Play At Home initiative to set up a fund of approximately 1.08 billion yen! Announced that we will engage in support activities.

News

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), a Sony Group company, has launched the "Play At Home" initiative to help those affected by the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

Two measures of the "Play At Home" initiative

The "Play At Home" initiative currently has two initiatives.
The first is the free distribution of the "Uncharted Collection PlayStation Hits" and "Kazenotabi no Tabibito" as mentioned on Saiga NAK.
The idea is to make the time spent at home, which can sometimes feel tedious, a little more enjoyable.

The second is the establishment of a fund for indie develop ers.
Given the financial difficulties many small studios are facing due to the spread of the new coronavirus, we have established a US$10 million fund to help indie developers get through this difficult time.
More details, including the criteria for participation in the fund, will be released later.

For the Future of the Game Industry

The game industry is only as good as the manufacturers who develop and sell the games and the gamers who enjoy them.
The "Uncharted Collection PlayStation Hits" and "Kazenotabi no Tabibito" will be distributed free of charge to gamers who stay at home for long periods of time to enjoy their games, and a fund will be established to help indie develop ers. From its inception, the "Play At Home" initiative is a project that SIE is committed to for the future of the gaming industry as a whole.
