E3, the world's largest video game trade show, which was primarily held in Los Angeles, USA, has announced that it is shutting down the event.
E3 2023 Announces Cancellation of Both Offline and Online Event
Bringing More Than Two Decades of History to a Close
Since its inaugural event in 1995, E3 regularly took place in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It was a massive gathering where companies worldwide exhibited and gaming fans flocked to attend, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have not held offline events since 2020, and the trade show had its final run as a fully digital event in 2021. Although organizers scheduled a return to an in-person show for the first time in four years from Tuesday, June 13 to Friday, June 16, 2023, local time, they ultimately cancelled it. Organizers released the following statement on the official website and official X (@E3).
After more than two decades of E3, each one bigger than the last, the time has come to say goodbye.
