【EVO Japan 2023】Oil King Wins Strike V Championship! From losers to championship with 6 straight wins.

The final of Street Fighter V held on the third day of the fighting game festival EVO Japan 2023, was won by Oil King from Taiwan!

The final begins!

Game 1 (Winners Semi Final)

ひぐち (Higuchi): "This is the first time I've made it to the top 8 at EVO, but I've always wanted to fight on a big stage in Street V, so I'm glad it came true in the end. Since I'm in a position to aim for the championship as a winner, I want to end it with a victory and the best feeling."

It was a match between Higuchi (Guile) and Machabo (Necalli).
Both players were very aggressive, but Machabo, who used Necalli's command throw, a deterrent, effectively, won!

It was a match between Mono (F.A.N.G) and Nemo (Gill). It was interesting to see how F.A.N.G could respond to Gill's projectile moves, but after both players displayed their skilled play, it ended up in a 2-2 tie, and went to the final set.
In the end, Nemo, who fought fiercely, emerged victorious.

Game 3 (Losers Round 1)

It was a match between Momochi (Cody) and Punk (Balrog/Karin). Everyone was excited by the unexpected choice of Balrog.

During the match, there was a big interval due to equipment trouble with Punk, but both players remained focused. As a result, Momochi, who was waiting calmly and not shaken by the interruption, won.

Game 4 (Losers Round 1)

It was a match between TORIMESHI (Dhalsim) and Oil King (Rashid).
The key of the winner was how Rashid could switch to Dhalsim's drill kicks and long-range attacks.

TORIMESHI was pushed to the brink in the second round of the final set, but managed to come back and win the round. He barely held on, but after a fierce struggle, Oil King player ultimately won in a tie.
The audience was the most excited of the day, and the atmosphere is already best bout.

Game 5 (Losers Quarter Final)

Mono (F.A.N.G) and Momochi (Cody) faced off.
At CAPCOM CUP IX, Mono's win is enough for Momochi to qualify for the tournament.

During the match, there were cheers from the audiences for Momochi's "walking" technique, which he demonstrated multiple times.
Momochi was able to repay the favor by winning the match.

Game 6 (Losers Quarter Final)

A matchup between Higuchi (Guile) and Oil King (Seth). Earlier, Oil King used Rashid, but this time he chose Seth to face Guile's Sonic Boom.

In the beginning, Oil King had the upper hand, but it was clear that Higuchi was gradually getting used to the matchup. However, Oil King won through Seth's unrelenting strategy.

Game 7 (Winners Final)

This is a match between Machabo (Necalli) and Nemo (Gill). Necalli's transformation and Gill's flying. It was interesting to see who can take the initiative.

Necalli showed aggressive attacks, but Gill did not losing his composure.

In the timing of the 4th set of the 1 vs 2 match, Nemo chose Urien. However, Machabo seemed to have an easier time and won the round. The match was tied, and the final round would determine the winner.

Game 8 (Losers Semi Final)

The match between Momochi (Cody) and Oil King (Seth) had a see-saw struggle.
If Momochi won one set, Oil King took the next, and vice versa. In the decisive final round, Oil King dominated with a stun and took the victory, winning a splendid back-and-forth game.

Game 9 (Losers Final)

The match between Machabo (Necalli) and Oil King (Seth) was won by Oil King, who showed flawless attacks until the end and made it to the Grand Finals from the Losers' bracket.

The match between Nemo (Gill) and Oil King (Seth) saw Oil King take a 2-0 lead and was on the verge of resetting the bracket.

In response, Nemo selected Falke. However, Oil King's momentum did not stop, and he was able to secure the win, resulting in a bracket reset.

It was the final moment of Street Fighter V. The Grand Final had been reset and it was between Oil King (Seth) and Nemo (Urien).

It was the Nemo's turn to fight against Oil King in the grand finals reset match. While Urien is playing better compared to the previous Gill match, Oil King's momentum doesn't seem to stop. Oil King won five consecutive games and is now one win away from becoming the champion.

Nemo chose Gill for the final battle. However, Oil King had already conquered Gill. In the end, he showed the power of his Tanden Engine, and Oil King became the champion of Street Fighter V at EVO Japan 2023.
