The "Shadowverse EVOLVE Japan Championship 2024", an invitation-only tournament to determine the 2023 Japan Champion of the real card game "Shadowverse EVOLVE", brought together 69 players who had won the right to compete in the nationwide qualifying rounds. The 69 players who had won the right to compete in each of the nationwide qualifying rounds came together for two days of heated competition.
On the second day, the top eight players from the first day advanced to the GRAND FINALS. The champion will be decided after three rounds of BO3 single elimination.

Final: Sare vs Takupon
The final match between Sare and Takupon was a mirror match between "Mystic Witch" and "Vampire Nightmare". Both players were exhausted from the previous matches, and this was the final test of their concentration.
Takupon won the "Mystic Witch" matchup, which lasted more than 40 minutes, but Sare won the "Vampire Nightmare" match with a cool head. Finally, the "Vampire Nightmare" matchup awaited.

Q. How did you get started playing "Shadowverse EVOLVE"?
Takupon: I used to play card games for a long time, but when I started working, I had to leave the hobby for a while. However, when "Shadowverse EVOLVE" was released just as I was settling down at work, I got interested in card games and came back to the world of card games.
Q. How did you feel after the tournament?
Takupon: "The meta was exactly as I had expected, and Angel Beverage was very successful. Without this card, I think there would have been many battles that I would have lost.
Q. In the final game, your calm play seemed to shine through.
Takupon: Yes, I think I was able to recover mentally. In the final, I used "Vampire, Princess of the Dark Night" early in the game, which made me feel nervous because I didn't have many cards in my hand that could deal damage. We were able to keep our offensive development from the middle game onward, and as a result, we were able to win the game.
Q. What are your goals for the future?
Takupon: The image of a strong player I have in my mind is "a player who never makes mistakes. As I mentioned earlier, I am still a player who makes mistakes, so I would like to continue to sharpen my playing and be "single-minded" and not get carried away.
