TAITO, the largest game center operator in Japan, has announced the addition of the Music and Puzzle divisions to next year's " Toushin Matsuri 2020: World Championship of ARCADE ", one of Japan's largest arcade version e-sports tournaments, to be held at the " Toushin Matsuri 2020 ". What is the Toushin Festival?
Last year, 2018 was the first year of e-sports, a year in which e-sports became so recognized and popularized that it was called the "first year of e-sports". The Toushin Festival is an arcade game tournament centered on fighting games that has been held by Taito since 2015.
The competitive nature of games is said to have originally originated in game arcades, and TAITO has been developing, manufacturing, and selling arcade game machines and operating game arcades (amusement facilities), supporting the competitive nature of e-sports since the early days of gaming.
As the title says, "Toushin Matsuri" is a tournament for fighting game-centered titles, and Fangler Games went to the last Toushin Matsuri as a private party and was impressed by the great turnout.
New divisions and titles added to the Toushin Festival
This year's festival not only added new titles, but also new divisions, the Music Division and the Puzzle Division.
