The "National Prefectural eSports Championships" is a national eSports tournament in which players representing each prefecture compete against each other after winning preliminary tournaments held throughout Japan. It has been held at the venue of the National Sports Festival (National Athletic Meet) since 2019. In the past, the top three finishers from each prefecture were sent to the "Esports Championships East Asia" as representatives of Japan.
The "eFootball" series has been used in these tournaments since their inception. Many of you may know this game as "Winning Eleven" in which you train real-life soccer players and legendary players to compete in your own original team. The game has attracted many players and has been highly acclaimed, and has been selected for the "National eSports Championship 2025 SHIGA" a cultural program of the National Sports Festival, since its first event.
In 2024, the "National Prefectural eSports Championship 2024 SAGA" will feature the first team competition between mobile and PlayStation, further expanding the scale of the event and helping to popularize eSports.
