The Game Trials for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is currently underway. From Friday, February 6, 2026, until Thursday, February 12, 2026, you can play as much as you like for as many hours as you want, provided you are a Nintendo Switch Online member.

This software is the predecessor to Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, which is scheduled for release on Friday, March 13, 2026. It is an RPG where you can adventure through the world of Monster Hunter as a Rider who forms bonds with monsters, raises them, and coexists with them.

The story is set in a world where Rathalos have disappeared. Triggered by a fateful encounter between the protagonist, a descendant of the great Rider Red, and Ena, a Wyverian girl entrusted with an egg, a grand story revolving around the Wings of Ruin unfolds.

By progressing through the game, Multiplayer mode is unlocked, allowing for play with up to four people. You can enjoy Versus Battles where players fight each other and Co-Op Quests to hunt monsters together via local or online communication.

How to Participate in the Game Trials

You can participate by downloading the software from the section marked Game Trials on the Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin product page on the My Nintendo Store. Alternatively, you can play during the event period by downloading the software from the section marked Game Trials at the top of the Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin page on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch.

In conjunction with the Game Trials, a sale for the download version of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is also underway. The sale period runs from Friday, February 6, 2026, to Thursday, February 26, 2026, and the game can be purchased at 63% off for 1,476 yen (tax included).

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Demo Is Now Available!

The demo for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, scheduled for release on Friday, March 13, 2026, is now available. You can play the early stages of the retail version, including the story, the Character Edit to set your character's appearance, the battle system, weapon and armor creation, and Monstie collection and training. Save data from the demo can be carried over to the retail version.
