PS Store Now Supports Rakuten Pay and Merpay! Payments Will Be More Convenient Starting November 14

News

The PlayStation Store in Japan is now compatible with Rakuten Pay and Merpay starting Friday, November 14, 2025!
This change will enable users to register their preferred cashless payment methods, making purchases of digital games and downloadable content more seamless.
Since these methods can also be used for wallet top-ups and subscription service payments, the flexibility of store usage has significantly expanded!

PS Store Now Supports Smartphone Payments, Enhancing Convenience

On the PlayStation Store, by linking your Rakuten Pay and Merpay accounts to your PlayStation Account, you can purchase game-related products directly from a PS5, PS4, the PlayStation App, or a web browser!
The ability to use these services for wallet top-ups and PlayStation Plus subscription payments is a major benefit, as it reduces the hassle of shopping.
Note that a credit card is required for purchasing CERO Z-rated titles.

On the PS Store, you can use Rakuten Points or Mercari Points at the time of purchase, and you can also earn Rakuten Points based on the purchase amount with a Rakuten Pay payment.
For users who routinely save points, this new option for purchasing games is even more rewarding!
